WHAT: Cyril wants to talk about Galadriel.
WHEN: A couple of days after Galadriel's imprisonment.
WHERE: Skyhold. Cyril is broadcasting from his and Merrick's room. Merrick is around in the background while Cyril talks, so you can assume he's open to thread jump when needed.
NOTES: This is basically that whole bit of the Civil War plot where the Dalish are super pissed off about Galadriel being tossed in jail. Cyril wants the opinion of others so they can put together a formal request for Galadriel's release. - Now in the right com!

Some of you know me, others may not. My name is Cyril, of Clan Ashara. I'm sending this message to all within the Inquisition who have the blood of Our People because I feel we should each have a say in this matter.

An elvhen woman named Galadriel has been imprisoned for refusing to pledge herself to the Inquisition. If you have not met Galadriel... [He trails off for a moment here, as if considering his words carefully.]

She is all that we have lost.

[Then, another pause, as he realizes that's not the best way to get city elves on his side.]
If you have not had the pleasure of speaking with her, I highly suggest it.

Either way, the thought that an elf can be tossed into a cell for refusing to agree to pledge themselves to a human religious organization is unsettling.

Many of us are here because we've done just that, because we realize the Inquisition is the best chance we have to restoring Order to the world, but the fact that this has happened to an elvhen woman is [One more pause, as he doesn't want to curse here.] ... extremely troubling.

I propose that we formerly request that Galadriel be released immediately. She is not a threat and whatever suspicion the Right Hand holds against the Rifters should be handled in a mature manner, not by throwing an innocent woman in prison for daring to refuse to submit.

I want to welcome your opinions as all of us will be face the consequences of such a request, most humans do have trouble telling us apart after all. [And that's meant to be more of a joke, perhaps poorly timed.]

Yes, please. It's ridiculous that she would be treated with suspicion just for not wanting to swear an oath, when she has already proven to be a great help on missions.

Did you want to write up a proposal? I would be happy to help you with wording, if you have need of me.

I think if I wrote it by myself it would end up a blob of ink and an unflattering doodle.

A doodle can make a statement all its own! But I think something succinct would work best. If we come across too emotional, they will assume we aren't thinking clearly and that they know best. We just need to point out how wrong such an action is for an organization that has been so accepting until now.

She is not elvhen, I feel I ought to point out. An elf of some sort, yes, a marvelous woman, yes, but she is not elvhen. I think perhaps you are borrowing trouble where you ought not. The matter is an overblown argument between humans about rifters and to that end? Let them argue, they will see the right of it and Galadriel will be given her freedom in due time.

That is a good point. I fear my own thoughts are clouded by the impression she leaves on me. That's why I needed to open this to other voices, and as always I welcome yours.

However, I disagree that we should leave her to her cell. Asking for her release says nothing about Rifters or the conflict the humans have regarding what to do with them.

She is a wonder- but she is not of this world. That is what makes her wonderful. It does make the matter less of elven concern and more of rifter concern. Perhaps speak with them on the matter. Be careful how you frame the proposal; it would be easy to make this an elf matter when we truly do not need such a division in Skyhold.

--I would suggestion caution right now. The Right Hand is on a war path. Let her bark herself hoarse chasing after the rifters, Anders, and the Nightingale. Then we speak with one voice. I--I'll try to help, I think.

[ She's really sure if she can, or if it would ruin her own plans she's had. But some things are worth it, she supposes. ]

I can see the desire to be cautious, but I feel even one more second of her being down there is an outrage.

I say she should be out and then they can decide what to do with the Right Hand.

She's not technically Elvhen, but so what? Do you think anyone outside of these walls would be able to make that distinction, or care to? This shit will get around.

The Rifter issue is something that has to be dealt with, but right now I'm more worried about the message it sends to leave her in a cell.

Cyril. Very good to hear from you, though I truly wish it were under better circumstances.

It is quite troubling that she saw fit to arrest Galadriel when I can think of so many more potential issues among the Inquisition. [That's spoken wryly.] I do think it might be good to address Cassandra formally. Perhaps requesting an exact purpose to the arrest, and how long the term is to last.

I'm curious about something. If this is more than the People. [Because he gets the feeling it is.]

I'd be happy to spend more time with you when there isn't a crisis.

I think there's a lot of issues going on right now, but the idea of tossing an elven woman into a cell is what is upsetting me.

She's not one of us -- but she's a representation of what we could have been. What the Ancestors could have been. I get it, I do.

More important that though ... if someone who is different, Rifter or elven or dwarf or Qunari says something that the Seeker doesn't like, will she take the same action?

I've pledged myself to the Inquistion - for the memory of my family. But ... you are also my family.

[She's clearly torn, but family always wins.] If you need a voice in the Inquisition forces, Cyril, you have one.

Yes. There are guards watching but they let us down there to see her.
