You'd really only have to do it the once, though. If you were careful on when you did it and who you did it to. And that'd be cool.

A blade you can only use once doesn't seem much good unless it's for some specific mission. Any decent smith could make you a permanent one if they were willing and had a good example. Or you could learn a spirit blade, if you've the aptitude for that.
