NOTES: tbd, if any
I wish to speak to anyone who has read Brother Genitivi's books and has been to the places he describes.
I am not allowed to leave my room, so our conversation must happen here.

He wrote about Live Death Watch Beetles. I don't know if you've ever come across them, my grandfather always made sure we had some in the house to foretell of death but - and I never pestered much in Rivain, seemed rude to ask - Genitivi wrote that they're an ill omen, that they kill these beetles on sight. Have you ever seen one?

What are beetles?

But beetles! Beetles are insects--
[And it's not his best work but Tavin takes the time, doodles out a beetle, a very beetle-y beetle.]
They have a hard carapace and many of them are either incredibly shiny or patterned; it goes in and out of fashion to have dresses made of beetle wings. They've got the antenna up at the front of the head - the body is in three parts, head, thorax, abdomen - and the wings are usually tucked away under the good sturdy little carapace. I think because so many are found around corpses eating them or laying eggs they get a bad name when they're splendid.

[Which explains the knock at the door that comes a few moments later. Matthias gets really close to the door and speaks very clearly, and loudly:]
