Because I come from a world several centuries more advanced in medical science than this place and we had devices that let us see 'em.

But we cannot see them here. How do you know they are here, too?

Because you're sick, and people are sick. Because their symptoms indicate a reaction to a cause that I recognise, and because your science around how that works resembles the science from my world pre those centuries ago, and because if an apple falls from a tree, it hits the ground.

Sure there are. Lyrium, elves, big horny guys. But we're talking about fundamentals. Just because magic exists and no one here knows how rainbows are made doesn't change the fact I could explain how rainbows are made.

It's an optical illusion caused by light refracted and dispersed through airborne water droplets to produce a spectrum of colour only visible from a relative position between observer and light source but my point is

that most observable phenomena here seem like they work the same 'cause there's no reason they would not.
