Maaaybe? If it came up in the whole like Welcome to Riftwatch Presentation, I kinda checked out after the whole "We can't send you home, there's an evil not-god trying to kickstart the apocalypse and the green thing in your hand is magic glow cancer."

I know the Fade is probably involved.

The Fade is impressionable, so are spirits. They often mimic events — a spirit might claim to be a dead king, or a young girl. [ ahem. ] At most, it's a copy.
