Riftwatch then-- I'd wonder if you'd do me the great honour or the courtesy or however you deem fit to judge it, that's not for me to decide to tell me about the most interesting creatures you've come across in your travels.

Not your fellows. They're hardly interesting, not to me at any rate.

And it doesn't have to be with Riftwatch though before and after the appearance of the rifts helps greatly! Their behaviours, appearance, anything you'd care to share would be tremendously appreciated. Also if it was around the time of the last Blight would help too or if they were close to Darkspawn or the Deep Roads, I mean if you give me an accurate enough date and place I can narrow that down but I'm interested in your tellings of it!

Oh and I'm Octavian Nestor Sokolov, but do please just call me Tavin I'll be-- well I'll probably be in the library if you've anything that's better in person. Sketches, samples, oh or any injuries inflicted that sort of thing, some of those are best seen rather than heard.

And you're keeping proper documentation of them in some manner? After all, the Grey Wardens did allow them to become extinct once before, even if you have a second generation now history hardly speaks well to your stewardship.

We are well aware of that, of course. And yes, we are.

Might I have the name of the other who has oversight of the griffons without riders? Are they a Grey Warden too? Please understand, this isn't a slight against the Grey Wardens entirely, I've been to Hunter Fell, I've done a great deal of research on Blighted creatures but...this sort of thing never happens. If a thing vanishes, it vanishes.

That would be Kain Ventfort, and yes, he is another Grey Warden.

Believe me, I'm supportive of any means to keep the griffons from vanishing again, as they once did. With such a small breeding pool, their situation is precarious enough.

A small breeding pool increases the risk of problematic traits surfacing that could see them lost once again though they've always been far different to hounds but you've little option where you might breed it out. It's keeping that in mind as well as studying them without bias so as to preserve them; yes, they've long been associated with the Grey Wardens but should any creature ever be bound to one fate for all time?

I've been considering that myself, honestly. I can only say that since my order could not prevent their past dwindling, it doubly falls on us to provide the means for their resurgence...though perhaps not alone. Outside insight and skills might be what is needed, to make such a dream come true.

Honestly, I wonder if there are any other clutches out there to find. Even one seemed a miracle...but would it hurt to hope for more such miracles?
