An empty warning sign from one who's gone before

FORM: Sending crystal
SENDER: Julius
RECIPIENT: Meant for people currently or recently working on red lyrium projects, but in practice open to all Riftwatch personnel
NOTES: If you'd rather action than network, just drop by his office.

Hello. For those of you I don't know personally, this is Julius. Since the project reorganization, I've been heading up Project Sashamiri, which has meant playing a lot of catch up with the work everyone has been doing on red lyrium.

If you're among those who were part of the red lyrium project when it was separate, or whose work now focuses in that direction, I'd be interested in talking with you more about your findings. Intelligence from Emprise du Lion suggests, for example, that cold actively facilitates red lyrium growth. Do we have any idea whether warm conditions can hamper it? If not, is there a way to test that?

In short... what do you think I need to know to do my job? And what do you want resources for? I can't make promises, but I can argue better if I know where to direct whatever I can secure.

If you'd prefer to talk in person or privately, I'm happy to make the time.

Considering the connection between it and the... other, which I'm not sure how public that is or how in public you are, would you like to drop by my research room so we can talk?

[Stealthy, he is not.]

I'm here now. I'll get the kettle on.
justice_is_blond: (Here for as long as you want me)

Come in, and a little. Take a seat.

[He waves Julius in with a smile as the kettle starts its howling. There's a table with two long benches and a taller stool set at it, and a few gathered stacks of books and papers with some scattered pens. A gigantic orange fluff of a cat, Lord Pawdric, is napping on one piece of paper.

Along the back of the room there's a counter with various filled jars, bottles, and vials, along with a metal box surrounded by buckets of water Anders keeps frozen to the best of his abilities.]

I'd suggest, considering the state of the Anderfels, it may be safe to say that red lyrium isn't going to be hampered by heat.

Red lyrium, not exactly, no.

[He grabs the stool once he's poured the water into the tea pot.]

But the Blight is everywhere there. I'd think it might be the most Blighted surface country, pending on how Ferelden's recovered from the Fifth. I haven't exactly been touring the place. the point is the blight prospers there, so therefore blighted lyrium probably would too. Maker, that could even be why Corypheus took it first, and then set his sights on Tevinter. It's hot there. But that's completely off topic. Sorry.

[Staying precisely on topic isn't exactly his strong suit, but at least he's not launched into talk of mage freedom. Yet.]
