There's the option to self-report via npc if your character wouldn't but you'd like to. If you'd like to report on other characters please check with that player first but I know we got spies and shady folks and that's fun but let's make it fun for everyone!

Greetings Inquisition. In light of the negotiations some of your number participated in there are of course promises to be upheld on the Inquisition's end. Namely concerning magic or abilities those among you called rifters possess not native to Thedas as well as magic outside the Circle.

If you'd complete this survey, you'd have our gratitude. If you will have it, you'll have the Chantry's gratitude too: I needn't have to tell you the importance of not sitting idle, all of you.

We'll be available if you'd rather do this in person but copies of the survey are available in the Chantry Relations office.

As with the medical surveys and the information we’re keeping on the shardbearers, this will be maintained--and transferred to the Chantry--under a cipher. If you’ve further concerns about what might be done with what we’ve gathered, [and Myr’s tone says he very well knows there will be,] I’d ask you bring them to me as the new head of Chantry Relations.

[Not for him this whole formal announcement stuff; or, more likely, he’s had too much on his mind to make one. Nevertheless, a splinter of his usual humor:] I’ll be with the surveys in the office.

I - [ Kitty's slightly taken aback by the non-sequitur. ] What? Why do you ask?

[heirring]

Only out of interest for your safety. Should something awful happen, should someone decide that people like us are dangerous or need to be monitored or-- kept in a tower or whatever else someone might think to do once this war is all over, then we may find ourselves very reliant on the good word of people the rest of the world would have no reason to doubt. At the very least, it would benefit us to have a few people from here willing to speak for us. I can't imagine anyone who thinks we're demons or dangerous will put up with whatever argument we might try to say otherwise.

I think it might be a very good idea to make ourselves useful friends to some good people who might care to do the talking when it comes to that. I could introduce you to some of my friends here if you've yet to make any.

[From anyone else, that might sound like an insult.]

[ Frankly, it sounds sort of like an insult from her, too. So, a little bit clipped: ]

I'm not much of a go-out-and-make-friends sort of person, thanks.

[ Which - maybe seems a little bit counter to the attempted charm offensive she's been letting loose since getting here. ]

[heirring]

[Maybe, just maybe, she meant it as one. Only a little though.]

Then it sounds like we both should consider making a few personal sacrifices for our future security.

[rathercommon]

[heirring]

Friends, or sacrifices?

[rathercommon]

Sacrifices.

[ Duh. ]

[heirring]

Well I haven't been practicing magick, for one. [Much. Not really.] Which I'm sure is wreaking havok on the accuracy of my gestures and words of power, which absolutely won'tbe bothersome down the road when I'mtrying to recall them and have no books to reference. And evidently I also must now commit myself to being better at keeping my mouth shut.

[That second one being the most dire, clearly.]

[ God, this girl makes Kitty want to grind her teeth. ]

Yeah, those are all things to keep yourself alive and not vivisected or tortured or put on display like a circus-elephant. Not things for the group of Rifters as a whole.

[heirring]

[Excuse you-- that's a bit rude. A short noise of bewilderment, a flash of heat.]

I'm sorry, I believe I just offered to make introductions for you and was flatly refused. My apologies, Kitty. If there's something else you'd like my help with, then I'd happily give it.

[Not sorry.]

[rathercommon]

You were refused 'cause I'm not gonna spend my time sitting around and giggling at jokes and sharing tea with folks who are already on our side. I'm spending my time going up and fighting against the real injustices in the world. But I don't suppose you want to join me there.

[heirring]

Well, there's nothing at all wrong with a joke here and there. [Honestly. What a dour thing she is!]

But you know I believe we were discussing sacrifices, not what we've been doing for people. Maybe I just happen to enjoy that sort of thing and didn't happen to think to list it.

[rathercommon]

Okay.

[ She crosses her arms. ]

So what have you been doing for people.

[heirring]

I've been helping to tend the Gallows' garden. [An air of defensiveness there.] And helping to order quite the pile of paperwork. And I've gone all the way to Markham to see to the whole matter of people thinking we're spirits or worse. Which went quite well, I'll have you know.

[rathercommon]

[ A cluck of her tongue. ]

Except none of that's helping other people, is it. It's just helping us.

[heirring]

[Don't you cluck at her, young lady. Archly:]

I was under the impression that the Inquisition's goal was helping people by not letting the whole world descend into fire and chaos. Someone must see to keeping it running if it's ever to accomplish anything.

[rathercommon]

Sure. If you buy everything they've told you.

[heirring]

Oh please. [Here her patience folds over.] What reason does anyone here have to lie?

[rathercommon]

[ With a shrug: ]

The consolidation of power. I'm not saying that they're wicked. But I am saying that it's probably not a bad idea, spreading out where you're helping, and when, and whom. If the Inquisition fails - You should try to find ways to improve the world that'll improve the world, even if the Inquisition dies.

[heirring]

[Ugh, philosophical idealists. She's been to parties like this and they're all very interesting and compelling the first two times until suddenly you're at the sixth party and the same gentleman with a curled mustache is saying the same speech to the same room, all of it punctuated by only marginally different pamphlets.]

Then please, regale me with your efforts so I might better understand how to do my part properly.

[rathercommon]

Why? You haven't got the skills I have. If you try to do what I do, you'll just do it worse. You should find something suited to what you can do.

[heirring]

Oh really, now you're just being needlessly obstinate.

[What an intolerable thing to say to a person. Honestly.]

[rathercommon]

Am I. So you know how to shimmy up a drainpipe, pick a lock, and get inside a house undetected, do you?

[ Which is...maybe a little bit too much information, considering that she's generally trying to avoid chatting about her rather storied history. Well - whatever. ]

[heirring]

Lots of things can be done all sorts of ways, unless the only good you're really doing anyone is breaking into places.

[ Ugh. ]
