FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Sidony Venaras
RECIPIENT: Everyone
WHAT: There's a newcomer and she's curious
WHEN: Today, now
WHERE: The Gallows, probably
NOTES: Likely to be discussion of blood, surgeries and medieval healing within!

Greetings, Inquisition. It is truly a pleasure to be welcomed amongst your ranks, even in these strange times.

[ The voice is soft, formal, a touch accented - certainly not Ferelden by any stretch. Well educated, probably, at least from the intonation. ]

My name is Sidony Venaras, lately of Nevarra, and I have come to fill any gaps that you might have in your medical needs. [ And, quickly - ] Yes, I am well aware that there are magical means of healing, but magic cannot cure everything. A doctor can often be required. It wouldn't do to forget that.

[ She doesn't necessarily have anything against mages, exactly, but it might not seem that way. ]

If anyone can inform me of any healers or doctors I might confer with then I would appreciate it. You have my thanks in advance, and I appreciate the support should it be given.

We have certainly not forgotten all the good doctors can provide.

[ Probably because they never stop pointing it out. ]

I am Knight-Enchanter Christine Delacroix, one of the healers here. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have, or discuss anything you might have in mind.

[ Is it really a "reminder" when they are never allowed the opportunity to forget first? ]

We have an infirmary here within the Gallows, on the second floor of the central tower. And our library starts on the floor above, but is two levels. I am sure you could continue your studies there, and order any books that the library possibly lacks.

Just the same, a doctor cannot cure everything. A healer can often be required, and it wouldn't do to forget that.

[His voice is mild.]

I can hear you've been directed to the Infirmary, I'm there as well.

Then you can certainly come and put yourself on the infirmary schedule. You would be working alongside others — not left to fend for yourself with the patients. We all have different skills or specialties, and there is no one leader in charge of the place. It has worked remarkably well this way.

[ Though it might seem unusual. But Christine is simply glad that for the sake of all their egos that they're allowed to heal as they will. ]

No, but we do well for ourselves here. You could also volunteer or be assigned for field medic work as well. That is where we are needed most.
justice_is_blond: (All right then)

[Dryly:] Which is what you've already basically said, so I was stating a counterpoint. People like to forget that spirit healers like myself can make a world of difference if we're out there and available because then it's easier to try to return us to the cage.

I'm sure you will be, especially right now after what's happened in Tevinter.

[ Nevarra sounds in rough shape too, but she's not going to point that out. It's not like Orlais isn't in the middle of some shit as well. ]

We are not short on medical personnel, but should our current conflict lead to battles, we will need all we can take.
justice_is_blond: (Just going to interrupt now)

You may not be, but it is fairly common to discount what mages can do that is helpful. And is not reliance on doctors similar? You must trust in their scholarship, their recall, their energy, and their strength as well, while hoping that they're not so in love with leeches you die of weakness.

My good lady, it is a pleasure to make the acquaintance of another physician. I am Doctor Etienne Beaumanoir, I specialise in helping to develop treatments and medications.

So what’s your take on rifters, then? Medical type rifters included:

I'm not a doctor to be conferred with, but I'd love to discuss nonmagical healing with you - if you might have some thoughts on what I've been using, or recommendations. I'd love an expert opinion.

It's always handy to have both, isn't it? Granted some of us healers have knowledge on the practical side of things too, foolish not to in these times, really. Still, there's always that one bleeding soldier who absolutely refuses to be touched by a mage.
