Greetings, Inquisition. It is truly a pleasure to be welcomed amongst your ranks, even in these strange times.

[ The voice is soft, formal, a touch accented - certainly not Ferelden by any stretch. Well educated, probably, at least from the intonation. ]

My name is Sidony Venaras, lately of Nevarra, and I have come to fill any gaps that you might have in your medical needs. [ And, quickly - ] Yes, I am well aware that there are magical means of healing, but magic cannot cure everything. A doctor can often be required. It wouldn't do to forget that.

[ She doesn't necessarily have anything against mages, exactly, but it might not seem that way. ]

If anyone can inform me of any healers or doctors I might confer with then I would appreciate it. You have my thanks in advance, and I appreciate the support should it be given.

[ Well, someone has to remind people, lest the mages think they have all the knowledge in the world. ]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Madame Delacroix. [ And she does sound somewhat genuine. ] I am looking to start trying to practice what I have learned, if there's a place for it, and to continue my studies if it is at all possible.

[aceso]

[ Is it really a "reminder" when they are never allowed the opportunity to forget first? ]

We have an infirmary here within the Gallows, on the second floor of the central tower. And our library starts on the floor above, but is two levels. I am sure you could continue your studies there, and order any books that the library possibly lacks.

[indissection]

[ That depends entirely on where you're from, surely. ]

I have some books with me, so I am not concerned on that front. [ She's done enough studying that she feels as though she might lose her eyes if she rereads the same books. ] But I would be glad to start to get some more intimate experience.

[aceso]

Then you can certainly come and put yourself on the infirmary schedule. You would be working alongside others — not left to fend for yourself with the patients. We all have different skills or specialties, and there is no one leader in charge of the place. It has worked remarkably well this way.

[ Though it might seem unusual. But Christine is simply glad that for the sake of all their egos that they're allowed to heal as they will. ]

[indissection]

There is no leader? That seems quite unusual, certainly for a place as large as this one.

[ It seems responsible, she supposes, but she has no desire to show her limited practical experience. ]

[aceso]

No, but we do well for ourselves here. You could also volunteer or be assigned for field medic work as well. That is where we are needed most.

[indissection]

I would be glad to be of any assistance, certainly if there is a need for it. I would like to prove myself a valuable resource.

[aceso]

I'm sure you will be, especially right now after what's happened in Tevinter.

[ Nevarra sounds in rough shape too, but she's not going to point that out. It's not like Orlais isn't in the middle of some shit as well. ]

We are not short on medical personnel, but should our current conflict lead to battles, we will need all we can take.

[indissection]

Then consider me here as a servant to your needs, my lady.

[ Said as demurely and gentle as you could imagine someone to. ]

[ It's always made Christine uncomfortable when people call her "my lady." As if she doesn't fit whatever a lady is meant to be. ]

As I will be here to help you settle into this place in return. Now, tell me a little of yourself, if you would. Where did you interest in healing begin?

[indissection]

I was tutored from a young age. My interest in biology began with those lessons.

[ It's not worth mentioning that it was a desire to be a Mortalitasi that had encouraged her. That seems foolish. ]

[aceso]

I see. And is this your first opportunity to see to patients, or did you do so in Nevarra?

[indissection]

I saw some patients. [ From a distance, at times, but she saw them. In person. ]

[aceso]

[ How vague. ]

And have you found in your experience that you have an affinity for certain medical methods over others? By that I mean, do you prefer mixing and administering potions, applying poultices, doing stitches, setting bones? That sort of thing.

[indissection]

I have an interest in stitching and the body. [ True enough. ] That is where most of my studies lie.

[aceso]

Excellent. Thankfully the injuries we have in the Gallows are far more mild that those in the field. Cuts requiring stitches are common for the sort of work done here: blacksmithing, masonry, gardening; that sort of thing.

[indissection]

I think those are ailments I can manage, Madame.

[aceso]

Very good. I am pleased you've come to offer your aid to the Inquisition. Are there any questions I can answer for you now? I will, of course, do so once you've seen the infirmary should you have questions then. I would not want you to be thrown into the deep end.

[indissection]

Not at the moment, but thank you. I've been invited to visit and I will do so as soon as I am properly unpacked.

[aceso]

Ah, of course. I should not rush you. But I am sure we shall speak again soon. For now, I will allow you the opportunity to become acquainted in your own time.
