Greetings, Inquisition. It is truly a pleasure to be welcomed amongst your ranks, even in these strange times.
[ The voice is soft, formal, a touch accented - certainly not Ferelden by any stretch. Well educated, probably, at least from the intonation. ]
My name is Sidony Venaras, lately of Nevarra, and I have come to fill any gaps that you might have in your medical needs. [ And, quickly - ] Yes, I am well aware that there are magical means of healing, but magic cannot cure everything. A doctor can often be required. It wouldn't do to forget that.
[ She doesn't necessarily have anything against mages, exactly, but it might not seem that way. ]
If anyone can inform me of any healers or doctors I might confer with then I would appreciate it. You have my thanks in advance, and I appreciate the support should it be given.

but there's no use in baiting him. ]
She didn't discount you. She just didn't play to your ego. Put yourself in her position: She's Nevarran, they already keep necromancers about court.
Think about what you're trying to accomplish with a given conversation. What do you want out of it?

With you? I'd like if someone wasn't stabbing me in the back when I'm having a conversation with someone. Or at any time, really. I'm not fond of people saying to ignore me, it's certainly not a friendly thing to do.

What do you imagine physicians study? Perhaps things the Chantry tightly controls? That are controlled, in Nevarra, by the Mortalitasi?
[ bodies. he means bodies. ]
Which is why -- you're quite welcome -- me making it into a personal problem makes you look less of a prick. Ask about her studies. Flatter the effort, the Chantry's stood between both of you.
You know I've fought; I wouldn't bother if we weren't in this together.

I don't need to be publicly derided to stand a chance to get to know people, Isaac. And I don't care to flatter. I'm not good at flattery, or pretense, or any of that, and I hardly have to tell you that.
We're talking, she and I. If we reach an understanding or friendship, it happens based on who the both of us really are, not on something artificial.
[Another pause.]
Maybe that's naive. But I truly have no skill with deception. Or manipulation. I've tried.

I don't know.
[His life is no longer simply survival, but it still feels like it's been distilled down and not quite his anymore. He owes too much.]

[He has to allow for them possibly not letting their son in on all the details of how their farm was going.]
Probably devout, no less. Everyone in the Anderfels is unless they've cause to open their eyes. Some even after they've cause. Also I'd likely be married man with approximately fourteen children by now.
What of you?

[ orlais' wars, ferelden's blight. an accident, the wrong alleyway, the noose. hunger and cold and disease. it's not the point. ]
The Anderfels are a hard country. How old were you when you left?
[ opening their eyes can slide, for now. this is going somewhere; let him talk. ]
