As some of you are aware, I have spent some considerable time and effort in search of my mother, her whereabouts, what she might be doing. There are those of you who have joined me in this.

My mother has been found. And I have discovered the truth of the legends at long last: no demon, no spirit, but Mythal.

[Not easily said, the most uncomfortable Morrigan had ever sounded over the sending crystal and the pause is as much for her to collect herself as it is for the news to sink in.]

All evidence on my search - the report sits with Elven Artifacts have you a wish to read it - pointed to something old. And she has confirmed it. Myself and those with me when we found her at the Altar of Mythal had no reason to doubt her.

My mother has lived an unnaturally long life. When I left her years ago to travel with the Hero of Ferelden in the Fifth Blight, I learnt her secret from her grimoire: that she would possess the bodies of her daughters.

[It had fuelled nightmares. It had explained so many things that she'd laid out end to end in the intervening years, especially as Kieran had grown.]

Now I know otherwise and that I might count myself as having slipped through the eye of the needle on that account. And if I am careful, she will not come for either of us again.

Possession would turn most to an abomination, in this case I cannot say if there would be any piece of me left though the way she put it…

Has to make herself remember (she'd rather not, there's so little she wants to but she can't allow herself to forget it, every moment has to be etched in her memory forever) what she said.] She claimed I was in no danger from her. Perhaps if she is all that she is - and given all that has been lost since the Fall of Arlathan, all that the Chantry and the Circle will grind to dust, even my own magic is a thing they might use to brand me as maleficar, there--

There might be some fragment there of truth. Of another way. Though 'tis not my choice and if it is not then it would still be a nightmare no matter what came to pass.

Yes. She has said her part, she has parted the curtains [funny how she almost said veil] so I feel certain she will not try again. If she finds some other man, another daughter…
