As some of you are aware, I have spent some considerable time and effort in search of my mother, her whereabouts, what she might be doing. There are those of you who have joined me in this.

My mother has been found. And I have discovered the truth of the legends at long last: no demon, no spirit, but Mythal.

[Not easily said, the most uncomfortable Morrigan had ever sounded over the sending crystal and the pause is as much for her to collect herself as it is for the news to sink in.]

All evidence on my search - the report sits with Elven Artifacts have you a wish to read it - pointed to something old. And she has confirmed it. Myself and those with me when we found her at the Altar of Mythal had no reason to doubt her.

There was always a back-up. Flemeth wasn't dead yet. That part hadn't been accomplished then, Carver slotted that piece into place for her.]

There was never a chance for Hawke to be a dragon, not without being some fragment of what she is. [Hawke confirmed to remain tragically unfulfilled.] Odd, isn't it, that all of those whose fates' she's shaped have gone missing or turned up dead.

I can't begin to imagine what that must make Kieran. I doubt they'll be embracing me soon, even if their Mythal and Asha'bellanar both birthed me.

And where has she been all this time? Flemeth's legends began since the Towers Age and 'twas Mythal who came to her in that tale, not a demon.

[None of this she says to be unkind but to say what has happened. That this is who exists.

Geldauran and his claim held up in the light of Mythal makes it all very interesting.]

Did she help any of you? Think very carefully as to why you might have been a credit to them.

The Dalish might not listen; how many of Clan Ashara's young folk have come here never to go back? That alone would be cautionary tale enough, to have it told from the daughter of Asha'bellanar that she and Mythal are but one and the same?

To the Dalish and to city elves who hold to such, Mythal is one of their Creators. The one who would right wrongs, a figure of justice as much as motherhood [at that she scoffs, as one raised personally by said figure] and love, as well as justice. Protector.

They believed their Creators very far from them.

She is whatever she is, I have found such in my search for her that has given me reason to doubt what a god is.

[Not that she's getting into it with this boy who speaks in fragments.]

One person might call a thing something, that hardly makes it true or fact.

When did I say she was gone?

[Now the lash of her voice. When did she even imply that? She who grew up alongside her mother and who knows only fractions of her will, her way of looking at the world.]

You were simply there. You were not the one rescued and asked to bring an amulet. Same as Cousland was not the only Warden plucked from Ishal but is the one recorded as Hero. There are those she imparts something to, that she will mark in some greater way that is far beyond you. As her daughter, I know that. Even my son who met her but once would tell you that now.

There comes a point where you must decide if you are wishing for the past because you wish for the comforts of that past, or because you wish that you too were a ghost, dancing in the ruins.
