[ Beleth's voice is weary, tired but determined. This is a whole lot of shit going on at once, but it's her job to deal with information, and that's what she's doing. ]

Greetings, agents of the Inquisition. I know that current events have been...very chaotic, and especially dangerous. There are many things happening all at once, and information has been scattered, when it's available at all.

I understand that these events can feel overwhelming, and out of our control. I want to help by trying to shed as much light on what has happened as possible, in an attempt to help everyone understand and to cease any false rumors.

Several days ago, something happened in Minrathous. We're still trying to figure out how it happened, but the Venatori appear to have seized control of the city. Citizens were urged to remain in their homes--with violence used to coerce them, if necessary. City guards were seen searching for members of the Inquisition, and tried to apprehend anyone that they found.

On top of this, Corypheus came flying in on--on his dragon. [ Is it an archdemon? Did that get decided?? Who cares, it's big, ugly, and dangerous. ] And, um. Raised the palace significantly, before landing there. It seems that he's claimed it for himself at the moment, though he hasn't officially been declared leader.

Luckily, our contacts were able to set up three locations for members of the Inquisition to flee the city, and most of our agents have done so successfully. There are currently three groups from outside the city that are moving to meet up with them, and help them make their way back to the Gallows. I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this possible, and volunteered to aid in whatever way they could.

As of this moment, there are five people that have not been accounted for.

This doesn't mean that we should expect the worst, of course. It just means that I haven't been able to confirm their current status. If anyone else has heard from them recently, please let me know as soon as possible, and I'll mark them down.

I would like to note that Ambassador Amsel, Provost Thrandul, and Duke de Coucy have been confirmed to have successfully fled Tevinter, as their status was unknown until recently.

[ Unfortunately they seem to have brought some kind of native tevinter pest along with them. ]

No, Val, I just made up an extra name to throw in there, because I felt like four wasn't as dramatic a number.

My question is genuine, one of genuine surprise! I thought it was only a name in jokes. Perhaps a regional nickname.

There are, in fact, multiple Gareths, apparently. So perhaps you're right.

If they're not at the meeting point, what do we do? We can't just leave without them.

At this point, no one has been able to confirm she has fled Minrathous.

Everyone who got to the meeting points were instructed to leave without delay, and have already done so. At this point, they're a few days out from Minrathous.

[ So...she's already been left behind. ]

We’re looking into what actions to take next, but I’m hoping that someone hearing this announcement can correct my information. Reports have been scattered, she could just have gone unnoticed.

[ Dragons tend to go noticed here in Thedas. And also in other places, generally speaking, but particularly here. Particularly when a much larger more dangerous dragon was already frightening people. ]

They couldn't have missed him, surely?! And if they're still in the city then Corypheus could get hold of them both, that must be the last thing we need.

Well, no reports mention any dragon, save Corypheus’...Which is a good point, the last thing we need is for him to get a second one.

There will be measures to try to find and retrieve them, if that’s what has happened. I just wanted to try to double check that we haven’t overlooked them, somehow.

Yes, the Archivist. [ She says like Casimir totally wasn’t the one that just filled her in on that. ]

Do we have safehouses to direct these people to? Has anyone else been able to reach any of the missing?

I don’t know of any safe houses, aside from possibly sympathetic citizens. I’ll do some digging, but if she’s somewhere she can stay, she should. Traveling in the city isn’t safe.

For the moment. She has someone sheltering her, but relying on her host's conscience isn't much of a long-term solution.

I assume it's safe to say that getting these people out is going to be complicated at best?

When has anything the Inquisition done been uncomplicated?

...The answer, for the record, is never.

[ Since John is new and might be under the impression that they have ever had something go smoothly. ]

The Rifter and the Archivist both carry anchors, and Warden Serra previously led our investigative efforts. That may prove to be a problem.

Yes, with several anchor shards in the mix, Warden Serra being the head of the Rifts & Veil project, and...the Archivist? [ So that’s which Gareth it is. ] It’s. Potentially troubling. [ AKA we fuq’d. ]

[ not that he doesn't have faith in the rescue efforts. he just doesn't... not have it, either. research is his job; the scoutmaster will do hers. it's not for him to consider how she'll see it done.

I can assure you, we won’t let them stay in Venatori hands, if that’s what has happened. As soon as we can be sure they weren’t just overlooked in the evacuation, we’ll begin making an effort to locate and retrieve them.

[ If just because they simply know too much, and having the Venatori have access to anchor shards is Bad News Bears. ]
