[ Kitty sounds faintly aggrieved. The reason: ]
So, there's this dog that started following me about. I guess it's mine now or - something. Anyway. Has anyone got ideas for a name?

Do dogs really do that?

[He knows next to nothing about dogs. Only--]
They're good to have in winter though. Better than a hot water skin or a warmed rock in the bed.

Terrible right now, though. When everything's so hot and sticky. When's this going to end, by the way?

[Honestly.]
August - this month - is the eighth one. Then comes Kingsway, Harvestmere, Firstfall and Haring. You know the days of the week, don't you?

[ God, she does hate feeling like a child. ]
Unless I'm lucky enough that they're Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and so on.

[Doesn't hurt to be thorough. Maybe she's from a place where it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Benjamin, Friday, and so on.]
What else has no one told you?
[This all seems vastly more important than the naming of a dog.]

[ Looks like she is lucky. ]
And - I don't know. I've spent a lot of time getting up to date on politics, you know, and history, as best I can. And I've learned some about the Fade, and Andrastism. The Chantry, and Corypheus, which meant reading about Tevinter, too - and I went there, too, to learn about it firsthand. Erm -

no subject
[ Don't worry, m'sieur, she already suspects you're a little bit more street-wise than science-wise. ]
no subject
[Raw? Whatever. Not already in a cake.]
You know how to get there, yes? And that it's expensive.

What do Orlesians like?
no subject
It must depend on which Orlesian you're talking to. But good food and wine is common and I think most like cleverness as that's how the Game gets played. Hunting. Books? I'm partial to lamb for eating, myself. The same as everyone else, only sure of it.
