Greetings, Inquisition, this is Scoutmaster Beleth Ashara. I'm back from my temporary leave of absence, due to an unfortunate injury that I have thankfully recovered from. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to everyone for their thoughts and prayers, [ To any deity, chill out ya nerds. ] and for their support during such a taxing period of time for me. I’m glad to report that said period is over, and that I have resumed my duties as leader of the Scouting Division.
And of course, a special thanks to Valentine...de Foncé, [ She is not rattling off that grocery list of names, thanks. ] and Kostos Averesch, for stepping up to help take care of matters and provide leadership for the Scouting Division while I was indisposed. You both did an admirable job, considering how little warning you got before an entire division was dropped on your laps.
Scouting assignments and missions will be resumed promptly, and if there’s anything that anyone has been waiting to speak to me, specifically, about, my office is open. And, of course, I can always be reached via the sending crystals.
[ There’s a pause, and then the formality in her voice drops. ]
Additionally, I’ll be expecting a report from everyone who temporarily defected from Scouting while i was absent, explaining why they cruelly abandoned me in my time of need, and cost the division a win in the tourney.
[ Not to name names, IORVETH. ]
[ Private to Cade, Herian, Nari, Sorrel, and James. ]
Um—Hello, this is for those of you who were present for my...episode. [ Her voice is still informal, tone rather awkward and very sheepish. How do you apologize for trying to kill people because you thought they were trying to kill you first. ] I want to offer my deepest, most sincere apologies to all of you, for my...horrid behavior. While it’s true that I was not myself, due to unforeseen and outside forces, what I did was...still absolutely awful.
I owe all of you, both for the restraint that you exercised during my episode, and for, ah. Your discretion afterwards. You have my unceasing gratitude, and if there’s anything I can do to make it up to you, please let me know.
[ Loki ]
Loki, of House Asgard. Hello.
[ He gets his own message, both because they have particularly covert information to discuss, and because she’s not actually that sorry she stabbed him, oops. ]
I do hope your cut is healing well, because mine has.
You needn’t worry, of course, I can hardly hold your actions against you. I was trying to kill you, after all. I just hope that I haven’t unduly harmed our work relationship.
I would hate to not be invited to any more of your parties.

[private]
[Given that he literally works for Beleth, what does that even mean.]
I might trade them back for... I don't know. Favors. Physical labor. A signed affidavit declaring me to be better than you, forever.
[Sorrel is so relieved that Beleth has regained her senses that he literally cried. So naturally, his only possible coping method is attempted extortion.]

not here, gimme a sec and ill leave u a real tag
ok here's the real tag
[ is he expected to be ashamed? nah, fam. here's his report. ]
I put in no formal paperwork to defect, nor did I abandon you, or did you forget I came to visit you personally? [ legitimate question, you were forgetting a lot of things at the time. just ignore the barely concealed amusement in it. ]
It seems I misplaced tokens of my victories in Thranduil's hands. So many humans look so very alike, it was hard to pick out de Foncé or Averesch from the lot of them.
[ tl;dr - iorveth thinks he's funny. also, this is said with the most sarcasm possible, it's clear he's not actually trying to lie his way out of this. give him his traitor wall, he's pose by it proudly. ]
Nevertheless, it's a pleasure to see you well again, Scoutmaster.

It's almost enough for me to forgive you. But my forgiveness, like the trophies, has been misplaced.
[ Her tone is light enough that she's obviously not actually particularly upset over it, though she will REMEMBER THIS. Forever!! ]
But thank you, I’m glad to be well. And to be able to resume my job.

[a chuckle]
And that we're not on opposing sides. You're fierce.
no subject
—And I’m sure I would have been distinctly less fierce if any of you had actually been trying to kill me. Except, well. The Tevinter. But that’s to be expected.

Hello, Scoutmaster. I'm glad to hear that you've recovered, and I'm sorry you ended up missing the tourney. That really was very unfortunate.
no subject
Besides, attending the tourney isn’t quite as important as winning the tourney.
[ That’s a joke, probably. ]

Credit where credit is due, your grenade was remarkably effective.

Not only do I get you back, but your brother will stop giving me the side-eye.

Ah, well—He, um. He does that.
Thank you, by the way—for, um. Restraining me. [ Cough. ] Making sure I didn’t cause any more harm. And then spending time with me, even though I was acting like a fool.

And the gift, of course. If it was stolen, I would blame someone of your division. A strange lot.

[ And apparently, a chunk of them will only take orders from her? Touching. ]
I’ve gotten the notes and the gift, thank you. That was very thoughtful of you, Val. And I apologize for any difficulties I gave you while speaking when I was....unwell. Trying to speak coherently was challenging, and I fear I tended to fall somewhat short of the challenge.

Welcome back, boss. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Totally hasn't been the same without you around.

I’m glad to be better, as well. And to know that I was missed. Nothing went too awry without me, I hope?
