( A quiet clearing of the throat; one can naturally assume it is a very beautiful clearing of the throat, done by a very beautiful man. )
This matter of the phylacteries for rifters⦠it seems sensible. If they are such a valuable resource to the Inquisition, the closing of rifts, and so on, being able to find said resource if a rival power were to try and overpower them and abscond with them makes sense, I think. For their own safety, for our own safety. If Corypheus and his forces were, for example, to make an attack on a party closing a rift and kidnap those rifters for nefarious purposes, it would be better for all if we were able to find them as quickly as possible. The phylacteries are an established way of doing just this, no?
By all means, if you wish to see the world end, protest. Even if this is not your world, though, I think we can all agree that you are currently in it. Itβs fate is not entirely irrelevant to you.

It may be best if I visit your forge so you can take a look at the rifle, it's kinda complex, but I can describe the bullets, or at least the chemical composition and how they work.
It's a brass case, filled with gunpowder, a chemical explosive. There is a pressure senestive primer at the base, so when the hammer strikes it, it sets off the gunpowder. The slug is lead, stuck in the top of the casing, so when it explodes, it flings the lead slug at incredible speed. The slug isn't big, but it dosn't have to be. F=ma, you got a high enough a, you don't need a big m.

Please come by as soon as you are able. Once I get a look at what you need, I can begin to fashion a mold for it.
(He smiles faintly.) Force equals mass times acceleration? It's good that the slug isn't big. It means we can make more of them.

Jane, do not listen to him- I would not leave your problem in anything less than capable hands.
