( A quiet clearing of the throat; one can naturally assume it is a very beautiful clearing of the throat, done by a very beautiful man. )

This matter of the phylacteries for rifters… it seems sensible. If they are such a valuable resource to the Inquisition, the closing of rifts, and so on, being able to find said resource if a rival power were to try and overpower them and abscond with them makes sense, I think. For their own safety, for our own safety. If Corypheus and his forces were, for example, to make an attack on a party closing a rift and kidnap those rifters for nefarious purposes, it would be better for all if we were able to find them as quickly as possible. The phylacteries are an established way of doing just this, no?

By all means, if you wish to see the world end, protest. Even if this is not your world, though, I think we can all agree that you are currently in it. It’s fate is not entirely irrelevant to you.

[ Poe will likely recognize Iorveth's voice from the Amaranthine rift, and the conversation they'd have there. He has a pretty distinct accent. ]

Tell me, have you walked by the alienages of late?

Do you imagine the elves damned to that ghetto believed they held certain freedoms and rights?

[ nothing they believe is right is taken into consideration by any in this realm save other elves, and that is exactly the perspective they face now, with the Chantry, Templars and Inquisition turning their eyes to the Rifters. ]

You're right to defend your freedoms and autonomy, but this is not a place that means to play fairly with us. You're new to the Inquisition, so you may not be aware, but Skyhold, the base of the Inquisition, hears everything voiced on these crystals. They're also who we'll need to face when we go to make our case at negotiations on this policy. Speaking anything of the arguing points, plans, or resources at our disposal on these crystals immediately warns them of it, and gives them ample time to prepare counters to them. Understand, I don't say this to scold, only to help safe-guard our freedom.

I ask only that you keep any ideas of potential arguments you have in our favor to Rifters only, in places that can't be overheard. Thranduil offered a means of submission on his post that you may consider using, or if you need to vent your anger, I can be found around the gardens most days.

I wasn't aware that the Inquistion was capable of doing such a thing.

I fight for freedom. It doesn't matter who they are. Everyone has a right to their own freedoms. I come from a place that have many species. All types. I fight along side them too. The Galaxy I'm from has been through many wars and rebellions and has encountered peace a few times. I don't know the laws or rules of this world but I wouldn't just brush aside any one person that needs help. I would help them no matter who they are and what they pervious have done. Unless they show to me that they are truly not good.

I also know a bit about corruption of politics. That's never a fun sight to see when your own senate should be fighting for you but are helping the enemy.

It's true that I'm new to all of this. But I didn't think I would be yet again facing a moment where we are fighting for our freedom.

I've been talking to Thranduil. I'll be more careful in voicing my opinions.

It may not be the Inquisition solely, given the negotiations held at Skyhold were part Chantry and Templar as well, but there's much we don't know the specifics of in this world. We'll need to amend that if we want to stay afloat.

[ what Poe tells Iorveth of his world is something he's heard a couple times - differing races living side by side, freedom for all. Part of him wants to be suspicious, because many humans in his land obliviously like to say the nonhumans have all the rights they deserve, that everything is already fair and right, but of course those on top would think so. But Poe doesn't say it in the same manner. He gives the benefit of the doubt. ] My home looks much like this one. Disgusting in it's inequality, so few willing to risk their slight discomfort to amend it. I'm glad we've found some brought in from places with better character to them.

[ you're a good boy, poe dameron. ]

Thranduil is a wise soul, long-lived and possessing a wealth of experience most of us haven't seen the depth of yet. I trust he'll keep us safe to the best of his abilities.

I see, so it's sort of like a council or command or major senate. I did find out that there's many different heads in place. This is becoming very difficult. We need to stay peaceful even if the others may end up not being.

[ The Galaxy has many systems and rules with their own laws. Anyone can still suspect him though, it's normal for him at this point. Poe was constantly telling those he encountered that he wasn't there to harm or do bad things. ] There's many planets with their own rules. There's always tension with new information and not knowing everything. Everything I'm hearing here though hasn't been fair. Freedom is something that means a lot to me. I grew up with such freedoms. Everyone deserves to have a peaceful way living.

There's someone I know that has more experience in politics, she would know what to do in this situation.

But you're right about being more careful if there's going to be not only the Inquisition involved in these negotiations.

I couldn't tell you for certain how the negotiations are structured. We've likely to request information from the mage diplomats that went for a better understanding of it.

[ Thranduil is working on that, it seems, so he's left him to it. Iorveth's already managed to piss off Marisol as it is, best he not try playing nice with the others. If he even is capable of such a thing.

What Poe mentions about freedoms, though, sticks with him. perhaps resonates is not the word for it, as Iorveth wasn't raised with such freedoms or privileges, never has been given them without demanding it by force, and couldn't fit himself into a peaceful way of living if he tried with all he had. but the respect for it, for the fact it must, and should be, demanded for all, touches on something in his mind. puts a light on poe dameron that he didn't have before. ]

I've commanded a rebel unit of freedom fighters for the past century, about. [ roughly. he hadn't been an officer from the moment he joined with the Scoia'tael, but it didn't take him long to ascend. ] It is painfully trying to advocate silence at the moment, but such is what is necessary.

As long as there's a way for someone to help us in anyway that should be enough.

[ He's being hopeful even if the situation all goes down in flames. Poe can deal with terrible people or ones that are troublesome. There's more information that got told to him so he's being careful about trying to be less out spoken.

Freedom is a thing that can exist for anyone. He takes in what Iorveth has to say about commanding a rebel unit though. The man knew at least what would be the right thing to do. ]

A long time to be commanding such a unit. I'm sure it's not easy. I've been in an organization known as the Resistance. We've been resisting a threat for a while and hoping a war doesn't happen. [ But that was inevitable at this point. ] It's not easy for me to be silent right now but it is necessary.
