( A quiet clearing of the throat; one can naturally assume it is a very beautiful clearing of the throat, done by a very beautiful man. )

This matter of the phylacteries for rifters… it seems sensible. If they are such a valuable resource to the Inquisition, the closing of rifts, and so on, being able to find said resource if a rival power were to try and overpower them and abscond with them makes sense, I think. For their own safety, for our own safety. If Corypheus and his forces were, for example, to make an attack on a party closing a rift and kidnap those rifters for nefarious purposes, it would be better for all if we were able to find them as quickly as possible. The phylacteries are an established way of doing just this, no?

By all means, if you wish to see the world end, protest. Even if this is not your world, though, I think we can all agree that you are currently in it. It’s fate is not entirely irrelevant to you.

[It was probably a good thing having someone cut in, not that he likes it one bit.]

Doesn't that make you a hypocrite? You were just as happy to be openly angry about this before.

And what did I tell you not a moment after that? I'm going to speak to Thranduil. Not 'I'm going to openly voice all my arguments on a public communication network for all to see'. [ he also made most all of his conversations arguing this private. ] And even still, I was a fool to give them even that much. Do not repeat my mistakes.

[ he's not above saying that. iorveth's from a century of violent, horrific open war over things like this, where negotiations where so far from an option it was laughable. his initial reaction was from that stand-point, and he'd been stupid not to keep in mind where he was. ]

If you wish to debate, do so in private, in person, to someone not recording it. If you wish to do something more of use, go to Thranduil and help him plan our next step.

[That definitely surprises him. He was a proud man himself, not so ready to admit his mistakes. Hearing Iorveth do so, when he'd felt that the two of them were the same, surprises him.]

Right.

[He's right.]

What did Thranduil tell you?

[ The Scoia'tael have made many, many mistakes over the centuries that saw them massacred. Some unavoidable, some with no better option, but detrimental nonetheless. He isn't above dragging himself through the mud if it means saving those worth saving. ]

Nothing I'll voice over these crystals. Come find me in the gardens, we'll speak privately.

Are you there now?

[He's happy for the distraction.]
