Cats and Rats and Elephants
FORM: Sending Crystal
SENDER: Thor, Adalia, Fingon
RECIPIENT: Everyone
WHAT: Gathering information on the Inquisition's animal population
WHEN: Late Cloudreach
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: Survey can be found here
Greetings, Inquisition! [Thor’s voice booms.] We come to you with a specific purpose! We wish to know about what creatures you call your own.
I’m Adalia, the man you just heard was Thor, and our other… associate [ ??? sure, associate, why not ] is Fingon. We’ve been tasked by the forces division to enquire after everyone’s pets, be they nugs or war horses. To that end, we have a survey! Please fill it out.
We are terribly sorry at the lack of originality, but we assumed people would take it poorly if we were to linger outside the stables and interrogate anyone who wandered in.
And it would smell, [Thor adds cheerfully.]
Most things do, you realize.
But not as bad as a stable.
[Just shaking his head and sighing at that one] The questions should not take you long to answer, and if you have issues of concern we haven’t covered just bring them up. We’ll be glad to take them into account.
If the idea of giving us information about your pet makes you nervous, because you have… I don’t know, maybe a dragon..... [ hi, aro ] rest assured that this information will only be used in order to help the Inquisition help you take care of them. So we have two choices of how you can take the survey: meet with one of us and complete it in person, or we have a paper copy you can fill out instead, whichever makes you most comfortable.

So okay, fine. If he has to. ]
I can come and meet you. I mean, Adalia already knows what I'm going to say anyway. Are you absolutely sure this won't go anywhere else? Just because the Inquisition tolerates my friend doesn't mean everyone else out there will.

[ Just to be blunt about it. ]
They're not really very fond of her kind here, through no fault of her own.

I keep Charis in my room. It won't work forever, but he's safer with me than he is anywhere else.
❰ a pause, and then she switches this conversation to PRIVATE. ❱
I've been saving up funds for eventually buying a house somewhere in the woods outside Kirkwall, when Charis gets too big. I have enough now for a small place of my own, but if you'd like, I could keep saving to get somewhere big enough for the four of us. I understand being concerned for her safety.

Of course not, he doesn't trust a bloody piece of magical crystal from an Inquisition that he doesn't trust in itself. ]
I...found a place for Iessa, to hide her while she's here. It's not enough, though. I'm worried about her all the time.
Do you think...? I've never lived in a house before, you know. Not properly. But I've never needed to hide her like this, either. I mean, what would we need? If you were willing to share, I could try to earn for that too. I'm sure there's work to be had, just as there is at home.

[Though if he knew what exactly Arohaerd was referring to, he would be rather warier. Arda's dragons are not nearly as amicable as other worlds' versions, and he's not yet entirely shaken off the association.]
And I think the Inquisition is rather used to housing beings the rest of Thedas is not fond of.

When I say they're not fond, I mean the people of this world have hunted her kind to near extinction.
[ Which...really doesn't leave many options to guess at for anyone listening in, so he supposes it wouldn't do anything worse to be honest. He sighs. ]
She's a dragon. A hatchling, from my world, not this one. That wouldn't matter to anyone who happened to find her, though.
