What, the lyrium? Or the Chantry Relations agenda? That's all sorts of things; really a lot of is just trying to convince the revered mothers we're not heretics. It's, you know. Having better relations. With the Chantry. Such as it is right now.

[excuse you, nothing about Simon's part of the Chantry is small]

If wanting Corypheus dead makes a heretic, I expect everyone but the Venatori count. I don't think that's what the clergy are hoping we take away from this.

They'd probably call a few of us heretics for some other things, at this point, but it's nothing to do with the Inquisition.
paladingus: (never thought of it that way)

[...right yeah maybe a review of the Inquisition jargon is in order. Simon suddenly, anxiously doubts his own ability to explain when put on the spot.]

Ah, well. Corypheus is the giant darkspawn magister aiming to take over the world. And the Venatori are the Vints who'd like to help him do it because they think it'll be a good deal for them if he wins.

Mostly what the Inquisition exists for is trying to stop him, but it's a complicated business.

[A long and helpless pause on the other end of the crystal, as Simon mutes it and puts his face in his hands, and picks it back up.]

--of course.

There's some who'd like to see the Dissonant Verses restored to the Chant, and they've made good arguments for it. The Canticle of Shartan, mostly, about Andraste's elven champion. I can't say as I think it'd be wrong, but it's still plain heresy to say so.
