I have a need of certain items as well as assistance with something...something you can speak to me privately about, I don't know how to stop everyone hearing things on this yet. I'm willing to trade services of my own or goods for these; I'm a talented smith of many years from hide and leather through any metals, glass, bone or tusk - the last two are best for bows, we're known for making the finest bows you'd ever have a hand on. I've hunted since childhood so if it's meat for your own larder or a pelt to do what you will with or whatever other parts, I can supply those.

The assistance would need to be somewhere not the city. Somewhere private. Quiet. There's no danger to you, I only wish to see how greatly arriving through a rift may have changed me. The second is where I might come by a still. [And there's a pause, verging on awkward. She knows.] For milk. And somewhere the still might be put to not offend or be disturbed.

But uh I got a friend who might be able to get you some specifics about still parts. Or like--actually making it might take some doing, but if you need the hard numbers behind it, Cosima might be able to help.

Didn't exactly pack the old still with me when we moved across the sea. Sure hope someone's taking good care of it back there, cuz it might, uh, otherwise have exploded--none of that's important, except for making booze that isn't ale and wine, haven't really had a good chance to start that back up.

There's a difference. How do you think cheese happens? It's fermented too, just differently to this, even a giant can make cheese with nothing but skin and tusk to hold it.

Fermentation. Milk is the same into something you get drunk on. Gone off cheese has the smell of poor wine.

What would've been the point to that? Windhelm had the Gray Quarter for the Dunmer but the drunk Nords still just went there to shout abuse at them in the night, blaming them for the ills of the Thalmor. If you open a tavern, open a tavern. But people will come, people will drink, and out come all the ugly sides of them, especially Men. [She's an elf, she doesn't mean males specifically.]

Wow. That's uh. That's real optimistic of you. Listen, I mean, I'd probably have it open to everyone, but there are places around here that take a lot less kindly to Rifters. [There's a curfew of all things. A fucking curfew because some people are afraid of some glowing hands made of pain, and they can't stand the idea that some of them are trusted enough in the Inquisition to take higher ranks.] Get some bouncers, the people getting rowdy and being assholes can just find themselves tossed out on their asses and they can find somewhere else to drink. You've never lived places before where you're not wanted. [Brónach would call it entitlement if she hadn't lived it so long.] Life is like that; brother will fight brother over worship or who rules when they never go beyond their village all their life so what does it matter? Steel is steel who cares who forges it but that one came from a place I don't trust, not their steel in my hand. People need pedigrees to breed in the Summerset Isles set by their own people. [How soft Thedas is, if she had it in her jaw, would it even crack?]

What are french fries and pizza bites?

[He can't help but laugh--not at her, but man, he isn't sure where to start with that. He's not sure he can say he's ever been wanted somewhere before, but she's not entitled to his fucked up confusing story. So. He'll pretend the laughter is at her innocent food question and not her really pessimistic if not inaccurate description of life and fighting in fucking medieval times.]

Fries are strips of potato fried in oil. Really good with salt and ketchup. Ooo, or vinegar, if you're into that. Never trust anyone who dips their fries in milkshakes. Pizza bites, okay, so there's the food pizza, flattened baked dough covered in sauces and cheeses and meats and veggies and whatever you want, so a pizza bite is like a rolled up mini version of that you just pop in your mouth, way less messy. And fully delicious.

You know cheese is on that list, a meat platter's pretty bare. That and mushrooms, they're not plants. [When you have a strict set of rules, guess what, you'll know every damned loophole you're comfortable with.] Need to ration the mammoth cheese too, this'll be the last of it when that's gone.
