[Okay so there's a good solid minute of dead air when Yngvi starts the message proceedings that isn't silence because there's the tail end of what might've been a pep talk and him getting his breathing under control before he actually starts talking.]

Right, not really sure how to start this so I reckon I should just start it? I'm Yngvi, Kit you know me but your-- your ladyship? Figured you'd be the ones to go to about this whole thing that's in my lap, see, for the benefit of all of us knowing the score: I'm Carta, the Carta are a big deal in the criminal underworld here and they've been in touch about a little situation that's been turfed out of their laps into mine. They've been having some difficulties in Orzammar they want me to look into, some. But I can't do that alone? I mean, I can get some people, I know ways in where we won't get noticed but one of you is this whole other powers and that's dealing with Orzammar, and one of you is diplomacy.

So. This is me? Askin' I think.

S'just a bit complicated since I technically shouldn't ever be there or know Orzammar dwarves because I'm a surface dwarf and there's a whole thing about all that, Kit knows that. [But head of diplomacy is a rifter and dwarves are never high up the chain of things so he'll explain what he can to her. In a totally not at all panicked sounding rush.]

Yeah, I know all about that. [Legion of the Dead or no, Kit wouldn't be welcomed back into Orzammar with open arms either. There's a pit in his stomach suddenly, but he muscles past it.] I've got your back, salroka, but what kind of situation with the Carta are we talking about exactly?

Contacts haven't been heard from in a bit. Long enough that folk are getting antsy about it - it's lyrium so there's money on the line here. But they don't want to go when they've got me. Figured the Inquisition has enough clout to spare them the coin to go look into it, see what's what and a happy Carta is a good thing for all of us. Less suspicious too if we've gone in through the front door than whoever I get.

[Any dealings with the Carta put a bad taste in Kit's mouth that has nothing to do with illicit lyrium smuggling, and everything to do with his own personal baggage. And perhaps, in part, something to do with Yngvi, too. He keeps quiet about that, forces his thoughts back onto the right track, and mulls his options over.]

...going through the front door, [a thought out loud to himself. Then,] I've been meaning to get an envoy together to head to Orzammar since taking over the Other Powers project. We'd need to run it past Madame de Cedoux, but that might be our legitimate 'in.'

You know where the Carta work though. It's going to be Dusttown. If they haven't turned up in a tavern then that's where our best bet of getting any good information is and moving about easier is because who's about to care about us being down there?

[It's just that Yngvi isn't from Dusttown so he's letting Kit consider it more carefully. If he really wants to be part of this and to do it from Yngvi's end when Yngvi's been squeamish enough about all these things (angry, hurt, upset but squeamish is good for now) of late.]

--Yeah, [said a little quickly, so it won't seem as though Yngvi's words have given him pause. Where else would the Carta operate but in Dust Town, where people can disappear, and die, and no one will bat an eye, let alone ask questions? But he lived there, and it's impossible not to live there without taking a little bit of Dust Town away with you when you leave it. (Or are dragged out of it, presumed dead, in his case.)]

...Yeah, I'll go with you. [He has to. Figuring out the logistics is the next step.]

[He knows. He knows as much as he can know but it's never good to be part of it in any way so he's grateful when Kit says he'll come because he was hoping. Because Kit knows enough about him as well as Orzammar. Understands things strangers might not.]

Basically some contacts the big boss has haven't reported in for what should've been a simple bit of lyrium trade in Orzammar. It's expense for them to look into it and a lot more trouble but they thought the Inquisition might be able to just walk in the front door. Wouldn't need a lot of people. But the Carta would be grateful and they can make life difficult when they aren't.

Just me, a few people who know how not to draw attention to themselves, basic supplies but less than going out to the middle of nowhere, we can get stuff I s'pose. [Ugh putting money in Orzammar's coffers, disgraceful.] I'll need a Warden, too much chance we might be near the Deep Roads to not take one along.

I will require a list of what and who you will be taking - I don't foresee vetoing anything on it, but if you would show me this before you leave with any of it - and a full accounting in report afterwards.

We are short gratitude, lately, I will not spurn opportunities.

Kit says he wants to go and I'd really want to take Kit? He's a dwarf, I'm a dwarf, he lived in Orzammar and was in the Legion so he's got knowledge I don't have. Dunno who I can talk on the Wardens but I'll have a scout about there. Think I'll ask Wr-- Ser Coupe? She's very tall, y'know, they might be afraid to look all the way up at her, their necks aren't used to doing that. It's not the longest trip but it would've been quicker in Skyhold to get there through the Frostbacks, that's family for you though.
