FORM: Sending crystal.
SENDER: Twisted Fate
RECIPIENT: All folks in the Inquisition.
WHAT: Templars and crazy girls need babysitters. T.F. is not one.
WHEN: Right now, occurring at the time of Cade's arrival.
WHERE: Public.
NOTES: N/A

Cullen or anyone else willing to attempt to talk sense into a templar:

Hello, a templar is currently having a meltdown in the courtyard. He just arrived, seems a bit out of lyrium, could use a nap probably. He's asking for Cullen, in particular.

Also, if anyone knows about a girl who speaks in a strange, cryptic manner and doesn't seem to know what shoes are:

She's also in the courtyard. Seems like she's all right, but I wasn't certain if anyone was missing her specifically. Just figured y'should know.

Well, that ought to do it. Did my good deeds for the day.

And here I thought Skyhold would be more peaceful than the mire. So much for that.

What the hell is the templar's problem?
gatheringstorm: (disgust)

Lovely. Someone ought remind him that Templars don't run the show here, but I don't expect that to be you. Sounds like you've dealt with enough.
gatheringstorm: (furious)

[personal profile] gatheringstorm 2015-11-20 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
What.

No, that can't stand. He doesn't have the right to just do that as he pleases, not in Skyhold.

Aside from informing the commander? Bring it up to the newly-formed mage council, at the very least. They'll be very interested in hearing about a Templar who's running around cutting off magic in fits of paranoia.

[ A little dubiously: ]

Obviously, I've not got any real authority on it, but I don't think it's altogether fair to draw conclusions about someone's character when they're lyrium-sick and travel-weary.
gatheringstorm: (resting bitch face)

[personal profile] gatheringstorm 2015-11-20 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's something that shouldn't be repeated, though. Tensions between mages and Templars are high enough without one of the latter going around and doing that.
rathercommon: (unsympathetic (maybe sympathetic))

[personal profile] rathercommon 2015-11-20 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It does sound - nasty, yeah. Are you all right, by the way? I ought to have asked before just jumping in.
rathercommon: (pensive)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2015-11-20 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. Is she all right? The girl. She'll catch cold, not wearing shoes up here.

I'll bet. I doubt I would have taken it as well as you, to be honest.

In any case, I'm not due to return anytime soon, unless the entire mire catches ablaze in a fit of justified self-hatred.

I don't carry any great fondness for them either. The sooner we're back, the better. Though I apologize in advance for the swamp-smell we bring back with us.

That's true enough. But they're also high enough without assuming automatically that if someone who's underinformed makes a bad choice, they're a threat. It seems to me - and, again, I don't really know all that much, but it seems to me - that the war between the mages and the templars got as bad as it did because no one was willing to extend the other side any trust.
gatheringstorm: (neutral)

[personal profile] gatheringstorm 2015-11-20 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair point, but he doesn't have the authority to behave that way, last time I checked. If he calms down and is made aware that shit won't pass in Skyhold, I can live with that.

It's hard to extend trust to the side that treats mages as criminals before they've done anything wrong. That doesn't mean I support violence or harassment without cause, but if Templars want trust, they'll have to earn it.
rathercommon: (explaining you a thing)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2015-11-20 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean...To be fair, aren't Templars trained to treat mages as criminals? That's probably what that Templar was all but raised to do. That's not an easy thing to shake.
gatheringstorm: (from the ashes)

[personal profile] gatheringstorm 2015-11-20 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Easy or not, it has to be done. I don't think it's too much to ask to be treated with common decency, especially when the world's going to shit. We're here to help just as much as anyone else.

[Unfortunately Cullen's been far too busy to even turn on his sending crystal, and when he does have a brief moment to turn it on, this is what he gets.]

Find a soldier to escort him to some quarters. Has he given a name?

[quick note: I figured I'd resolve that thread so I could RP in others, so Cade was led to the dungeons by a couple of confused guards and that's where he currently is!]
