What's a reasonable amount of time to stay angry with someone?

[ There is a fairly obvious difference between Alistair's I have a serious question voice and I am trying to cause trouble voice, for those who know him, but in this case his tone falls somewhere between the two. ]

Obviously it depends on what they've done to make you angry, so let's talk about the full range. How long can I stay angry with someone for borrowing my sword without permission before I'm unreasonable?

Or what if they left everyone I cared about to die?

Just for discussion's sake.

That's a little two-faced, isn't it? Saying you're justified in your anger but expecting you to let it fester forever without saying a thing?

( interjecting blithely )

The logic that allows them to be resentful as they like but never have to hear about it when people are angry at them. Cowards, in other words.

[That gets an almost-laugh out of him.]

Right.

Not that there isn't a place for keeping the peace and your tongue in a bad situation. Why leave it unresolved outside of that, though?

[why indeed, Myr]

You should always consider as carefully who exactly it is your silence serves as who your voice might hurt.

[Huh.]

I'm admit I'm not accustomed to thinking that way, lady.

Remarkably few people here are accustomed to thinking before they speak at all.
faithlikeaseed: (pb - this just might work)

That's not so different from home--and likely all of Thedas.

People being what they are.

Wouldn't be so uncharitable. Rather, they don't need to be any better.

So do I, lady.

But there's enough misery in the world without adding to it.
