What's a reasonable amount of time to stay angry with someone?
[ There is a fairly obvious difference between Alistair's I have a serious question voice and I am trying to cause trouble voice, for those who know him, but in this case his tone falls somewhere between the two. ]
Obviously it depends on what they've done to make you angry, so let's talk about the full range. How long can I stay angry with someone for borrowing my sword without permission before I'm unreasonable?
Or what if they left everyone I cared about to die?
Just for discussion's sake.

...Who is this bastard?

Ladies, that wasn't him. And...neither was that. The man who sold elves into slavery was Rendon Howe, who is dead, with his children punished. Regardless, Warden Loghain is your brother-in-arms and you will not incite violence against him, intentionally or accidentally. Take a moment to calm down.
[It's not an order, but he doesn't sound like he'll be argued with.]

...As you say, Senior Warden.

[Whether he gave the order or turned a blind eye, it's all the same to Inessa. But she cuts herself off and takes that moment, responding flatly.]
Understood.

You don't need to tell me what he was complicit in. I've spent twelve years hearing about it from people who think they know me. Everyone in Ferelden has very strong opinions about the war, has people they lost and miss. Do you imagine I miss my people less than you miss yours, and so you're not required to--
[it takes real effort to stop. Loghain's presence is hard for him to deal with, too, but here he is having to be the sane one. Again. He blows out a breath.]
I apologize for myself, Inessa. But you know he's not going anywhere.

I apologize as well, that was thoughtless of me.
...and I know. Somehow, I never thought he would arrive here, but that was evidently foolish. [A pause and a quieter tone.] I'll contain myself. [That takes some effort to say, but it's not as though Howe is asking the impossible. She doesn't need to forgive Loghain to work with him as a Warden.]
