So here’s what: You make up two choices. Maybe they’re both shit, or maybe they’re both alright, but you say them —
then you gotta say which one you’d pick, if you had to.

And maybe why. And then everyone else’s gotta answer too.
Like this,

Would you rather not be able t'lie, or only be able to?

— And no one gives a damn for who you’re fucking or who fucked you over, so don’t go dragging that mess in here or I’ll
puke on your shoes.

I said it helps, not that it's perfect.

I'm not really one to talk about having a life outside the Chantry, of course, but you're damn right the booths get cramped. [He once had to confess in one that the width of his shoulders had prevented from closing all the way. Nobody else in line behind him had looked him in the eye for days afterward.]

I'd want to go out fighting a dragon, or some such. But I suppose I could do that any time, if I just wanted guaranteed death.

No, but it gives everyone who knew me something flattering to talk about, instead of all the things I botched. That's all you can really hope for in a legacy, isn't it?

The right answer's that you don't, as long as you can be assured that you'll be seated at the Maker's side in death and made one within His glory and all of that, but even the liars who say they don't care about acknowledgment wouldn't actually want everyone to forget about them soon as they're dead.

At the very least, you'd want a half-decent eulogy. Right?

[Who'd be able to give such a thing for him, he has no idea. He rather regrets getting onto the train of thought.]
