If I have, no one told me it was spider. Some of the sh--the others in the Circle got squeamish enough about dormice, so I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't always telling us the truth about the meat we got.

Guess it ain’t much their fault. Not like it’s standard game, you get in from the sticks at all.

[They were starvation food in the alienage and high culture in imitation of Tevinter among the nobility, and no one in between ate them much. The Circle had its pretensions and Myr hadn't cared how they were prepared because they tasted like home.]

Antelope, tusket, gurn. Beef, but that's pricey; cattle don't do well up there. Lake and river fish. Doves and quail. Dormice, of course, and hare and rock hyrax. Sometimes rattlesnake--if one showed itself around the alienage.

And spices. [That's a little mournful.] You'd think they were allergic to them down here.
