open.

FORM: Sending crystal.
SENDER: Gwenaëlle Vauquelin.
RECIPIENT: Everyone with a crystal.
WHAT: Yo I heard you like books.
WHEN: Current.
WHERE: Kirkwall.
NOTES: I am happy to do action-spam threads here for anyone coming to grab some book.

( Without any fanfare, Gwenaëlle gets briskly to the point: )

To simplify matters, my grandfather purchased for me the contents of the house that I'm currently renting. I've been sorting through the library, such as it is, while I clear the shelves for my own books I anticipate arriving within the month - I don't imagine most of it is going to be pressingly relevant to anyone's research, but the social and military histories, as well as the etiquette books, might come in useful for our tame demons as they adapt.

( Are we not calling the rifters that. Thranduil literally lives with her now, why is she like this. )

Some of the academics look curious. In any case, I am having the lot of it boxed up. It's all quite clearly labeled and inventoried. If anyone wishes to come and collect it for the Inquisition's library, or sift through and see if there's anything of interest, you've until the end of the week and after that it's being donated to the Chantry.

I would be happy to take some of the etiquette books, they might prove very useful.

[Or as happy as one can be to take the etiquette books when she can't just hit people over the head with them.]

Gracias, whenever I am finished with them would you see them donated to the Inquisition's collection? I think we're understocked.

[Taking note of nobility actively under the Inquisition's banner is something Araceli's done because that's how you stay alive after all. All the propaganda was carefully collected, copies of it tucked away in her personal effects to have it because if you have a voice? You use it.

Rare enough that anyone would bother to.

Perhaps she's already comparing this one to her relative even if it's by marriage, she doesn't know Seeker Darton well but know him she does.

Mayb I will see if I could have someone distribute the most useful parts of each so we have plenty to spare. That way I might be able to spare my breath repeating the same thing over and over again to those who don't understand delicacy or subtlety.

[When you say 'lost causes' Lady Vauquelin, do you perhaps mean a distressing swathe of the Inquisition too?

But we can start with Seeker Darton.

Too many make the mistake of overplaying their hands or believing that being very convinced of their strengths is enough. Or simply not considering the strength against them. [You can argue with the tide all you like, it goes out but it comes back, and when it crashes down it wears down stone and glass to nothing.]

The downside of being within an organisation like this is when people are incapable of realising that everyone has to time their strokes together if we're ever going to get anywhere, otherwise we start spinning in circles, hit each other's oars, or we capsize. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. That opinion doesn't need to be voiced loudly. In public. [Know where to maximise your effect. Maybe more people should be thieves and learn to have too many eyes on them all at once as well just to have some healthy paranoia as a baseline for living but honestly, there are times a girl could scream.] The lack of survival instinct displayed is astounding.

Of course, tea would be lovely.

[She'll bring the brandy.]
