I'm sure a lot of people would, Yngvi. Thing is that roof and those meals come with a price. For many you're taken away from family and friends - often put there by them - and you cannot leave those walls, save perhaps those with rank and permission. You are watched around the clock by armored men and women who often expect you're going to do something wrong. And when the higher-ups think you're ready, you take a test. If you do not pass... the results can be deadly.

[Sam's voice is calm, having taken no offense to what was being said. It's a conversation he's had many times, not the first time he's heard the same reasoning that Yngvi was giving. He gets it. Even so he has to point out that the reasoning isn't as rosy as people think it is. It's a cost of freedom. Some people could live with it, but he couldn't.

Ah. Asher. That's a name he hadn't uttered for a while. Not that he had forgotten, but simply because those he could talk to still carried a great deal of hurt from his passing.]

How old were you when you left Kirkwall? Is it nice being back? [He knows he's asking a lot of questions, but the thing is he isn't going to know more unless he does. He only knows general stuff about dwarves, mainly those from Orzammar during his weird... trip, and clearly that doesn't completely apply here.]

[OoC: Ugh, sorry. Thought I had responded to this. It's cool if you want to wrap things up for newer things]
