I've been debating offering this because I understand the... complicated politics behind the offer. However, now that we've settled in a city where people still seem to uncover ancient Tevinter scrolls and as we are still fighting a rather Tevinter enemy...

If anyone here is interested in basic lessons in Tevene, I'd like to offer my knowledge. It's not a language widely spoken, except for a few colorful phrases, but there are those from my homeland who believe using it as a code makes them appear well educated.

I'd enjoy that. I know a couple of swear words and a few words I've picked up from old scrolls, but nothing entirely practical.

The swear words are the words that most people learn first.

Of course they are. They're easy to learn and useful from the start. Who wouldn't find them the best first option? Where and when will the lessons be?

Try explaining that to classical teachers. They usually act scandalized when you ask them. You have to learn all of the good stuff from your friends.

And I think the time and place would depend on who is interested. You can I could easily meet, though, given as the Wardens tend to stay in the same general area.

I think I'd find that preferable, as my schedule changes any given day depending on who set themselves on fire or dropped an axe on their foot this time.

And it has to be even more complicated if anyone dropped an ax on their foot because they caught on fire...

I would like to learn. It might be valuable to my work even if I'm not involved in research.

I'm sure the language has many uses. I'm happy to teach for whatever reason.

Is there anything I can offer in exchange? Teaching a language cannot be an easy thing.

As far as what to offer in exchange... If I remember correctly you teach others how to be more nimble? My body has mostly recovered from the Blight, but I still don't feel as much in control of it as I'd like,

Kirkwall is much more like where I do my running and climbing at home. I'll be starting everyone as beginners but one day? I can show you how to jump between buildings if that is your wish.

[Cullen is not at all interested, until he hears code. He's still only mildly interested, until his brain reminds him that out of the big four, he's the only one in Kirkwall. Not forever, they promise him. He won't be on his own forever. Until they make good, though, it's just him, and it does sound like a useful skill.]

I prefer to learn in whatever manner you think will be the best use of our time. I don't have a lot of experience with foreign languages.

[Maybe not the code bit, but this place has Tevinter's grubby fingerprints all over it. Tevinterish things might be lurking about and knowing a bit of their lingo couldn't hurt.]

I find that I am free most evenings, if that is agreeable. Otherwise I can simply make time for the lessons.

I do not mind the latter. It would be a dreadful thing to monopolize your time if something more convenient is available.
