( slightly urgent, the wobbly delivery of someone who has been possibly moments ago in tears of shock and very sudden, awful disappointment )

Excuse me, we need a healer. At once, thank you. To the ramparts. Right now.

[ Talk aside, he's complacent during the examination. The injury really isn't too bad, as far as large magical second-ish degree burns go. It might have been worse if he weren't almost a Templar. Cracking his head when he fell, though, that wasn't fun. He isn't sitting down because he enjoys looking helpless in front of young women.

He twists the arm Gwenaëlle had been touching to grab her hand instead, for a quick reassuring squeeze before it's released. ]

It's my fault. I was throwing things at her.

[Rather then continuing to ask questions on the crystal, Sam focuses on getting the 'left' ramparts. Judging by the voices as he got closer it seemed he had guessed right.

He's not surprised to see Anders there, but it is something to see Alistair on the ground. A brow raises as he catches the last of the conversation.]

Exactly what were you throwing to warrant getting... this?

[He shakes his head and begins casting, picking up the head injury quickly and focusing on that.]

He's Alistair. He was probably trying to throw jokes and they were just that bad. You can't blame her for acting in self-defense.

I didn't mean to hurt him,

( which is adding to the dignity of this situation, obviously. the alistair, knocked on his arse by a tiny orlesian noblewoman who didn't even mean to. what a way to go if she'd hit him just a bit harder. )

I'm fine, [ Alistair says out of fairly equally concerned about Gwenaëlle's guilt and his own pride. He does his best to hold still for Anders, for a few seconds, but then a thought occurs to him and he turns his head to look around him at Sam. ] That thing isn't going to hurt her, is it? Have you seen anchors acting up?

[ And to Gwenaëlle, head weaving the other way: ]

You need to have it looked at. What if you're only trying to fix your hair and ffshshhhth.

[ That would be the sound of hair frying. ]

['No, it'll just kill her in oh five years or so' is the first thing that pops into his head when Alistair suddenly looks at him, but decides against bringing that up just now since it seemed like there was enough panic at the moment.

Sam blinks, chewing the inside of his cheek as he thinks back to any shard problems.]

Hm...

Besides the usual discomfort or strain after using the anchor too much, I don't think it should be hurting her. And... Yeah I have seen an anchor act up once few months back. I kind of got shot in the ass- [coughKirkcough].

Though I believe it was simply because he had not been using his anchor and learning to control it.

[At this point he looks between Alistair and Gwen.]

So you two were doing something with the anchor? Or did it just do something out of nowhere?

[Anders gives Gwen a faint smile.]

He really will be fine.

[It's murmured so as not to interfere with the other conversation going on as he finishes what he's doing with Alistiar's head wound.]

We were following Solas' instructions and it misbehaved.

( the steadier she gets, the more intractable; the less willing to answer questions that don't seem to her immediately relevant to the pressing matter of alistair's head injury. )

Solas said I should throw things at her, [ Alistair clarifies, clearly. As Anders finishes he gives him a particularly wide grin, a silent stand in for thank you, and prods himself experimentally in the temple. He can't actually tell anything from that, but he feels well enough to stand up, anyway, and peel the unlaced collar of his shirt further back to look at the burn. That also hurts, but as previously stated, he's fine. ] I think it's shaped like Orlais. Look, there's the Waking Sea—

[ Feel free to just talk over him. ]

[Sam waits, seeing if there was going to be anything more added from either party, but it seemed that 'Solas told us' and 'throw things' was to be all he was going to get at the moment. He sighs, watching as Anders finishes with Alistair's head and then seeing the concerning burn.]

Besides 'Solas told me to throw things at her' you two are going to need to be a little more specific on what you were doing, so we can prevent future injuries like this. Like what you were trying to get the anchor to do? Trying to get it to activate?

I think a general reminder of "if you have a shard in your hand, don't point the hand at someone you don't want to set on fire" could suffice.

[If Solas hadn't fucked off to who knows where, they might not have this problem. But considering how much he doubts Gwen meant to harm Alistair, he's not sure how they could prevent accidents in the future without the elf.]

You've been shot in the ass, now Alistair has in the shoulder, it's likely to happen infrequently no matter what we do.

Alistair, please sit back down and let me tend to that too unless you want to keep it.

( although she visibly bristles at being so spoken to, all she says is a flat, decisive; )

( her views on mages may have become more complex, but not her views on strangers and what their business with her is and is not. it's a lot of not. )

She can use it as a shield—can't you heal people who are standing up, Anders? That seems like basic healer stuff. Standing up, sitting down, lying flat—

[ No one will blame Anders for abandoning him to his burn, probably. ]

I don't think I'm going to die after all, [ he tells Gwenaëlle, cutting himself off. ] If you want to go. If I do die now you can tell everyone it was Samouel.

( a blank moment before she realises that must be the other healer's name - )

I'm going to go and show Morrigan my hand, she said she'll come. If you die it will be your own fault.

[Well that was helpful. Not the first time he's had someone get defensive on him, but it still makes the mage frown in slight confusion considering he was only trying to figure out exactly what happened and how they could possibly prevent all this.

At least Alistair is being helpful - she could use it as a shield? Well, mostly helpful; now Alistair is suggesting pinning his unlikely death on him.]

Heeeey.

Now you've got an excuse for tackling him and holding him in place, at least.

[It's said to Sam with a faint smirk.]

If you don't mind, Gwen, I'd like to know what she says about it. And Alistair, you get twitchy when you're not sitting down. Even when you are. It'd be easier to heal if you're not fidgeting. Please sit, if you want that healed.

( she can see morrigan overhead ~~in the thread below~~; as she steps away, what she says is-- )

( very firmly. there are two people who can call her gwen; one of them is dead and the other is a dwarf.

so it's debatable as to whether or not she'll be prepared to cough up any information later, but she doesn't linger to argue over it. )
