[Pel is restless, and possibly a little bored. Sometimes, you have to walk away from work for a few minutes and do something else. But Pel doesn't like to shut off her brain. So she speaks into the stone, voice mild and thoughtful.]

Anyone up for an exchange of riddles?

I am weightless, but you can see me. Put me in a bucket, and I'll make it lighter. What am I?

[Cole often forgets he has one of these stones. He can only hear words through it, after all, and normally, his attention is needed elsewhere. And sometimes, he's been too shy to speak up to such a large audience.

This question, though, piques his interest.]

...are you sunlight?

[A pause as she turns that over in her head. That's a very good answer, just not the right one.]

You would think. But no. Good answer, though.

[He returns with a pause of his own. What else works?]

Does it have to be a bucket? Could you be put into something else?

[But that question happens to lead him down a quick succession of thoughts. With a degree of cautious certainty:] A hole.

[mythalenaste]

Perfect. [There's a smile in her voice; she smiles more easily over the sending stones because nobody can see her underbite.] Your turn. Tell me a riddle.

Are you air?

[mythalenaste]

You can see me, so no.

[sandsofhell]

Then...are you a hole?

[mythalenaste]

Yes. Good guess. Now you tell one.

[unsullies]

[ Something about this pings Daenerys. She's yet to use the sending crystal, but the familiar face and innocent subject have her gather up the stone into her hands, watching the way the glow of the sliver in her palm colors it.

The Targaryen princess thinks for a while before responding, allowing a little amusement to sneak into her voice. ]

A hole. Isn't it? [ There's a pause, and then: ] "No one can see me or catch me in their palms. I spread the noisy sound of my voice quickly through the world; I can break to pieces the oak with my loud, crashing strength, As I beat against the high poles of the sky and traverse the fields." What is the answer?

Lightning. Right?

[unsullies]

No. [ She replies. ] Try it again.

Thunder?

Fire? Wait. No. That doesn't make any sense, why would anyone put fire in a bucket.

Um... Is it a crack? Or a hole? [He was so terrible at these sometimes.]

[mythalenaste]

It is a hole. Your turn.

[scalethewall]

Uh... I don't really know any.

Um.

At least not any that should be told sober and while not in a run down bar.

I mean, I could... eh... alright, this one's not completely terrible.

[He pauses, really having a hard think about his life choices right now.] I start with a 'v' and every woman has one. She can even use me to get what she wants. What am I? [He sounds lackluster and a little defeated by how absolutely terrible the riddle is. There's no video, but he's definitely shaking his head, already regretting this.]

Is this a trick question?

Hmm... It can't be air because you can see it, A sponge is pretty light, but it wouldn't make a bucket lighter. [Suddenly she gasps in realization.] It's a hole, right?

[mythalenaste]

Very good. It is a hole. Your turn.

What is harder to catch the faster you run?

A spirit, of course.

[mythalenaste]

Wrong. And you're supposed to be an educated man.

[degenere]

I am educated, and philosophical of mind. Of course, the easy answer would be a hole. Anyone could tell you that. But a man of education would tell you that your riddle's answer is a spirit, as in, the spirit that a man has in him. A spirit can be seen. The gleam in the eye, that leaves once a man has died. The breath, warmth, life, so on. And a good spirit would make a burden lighter--a burden such as a bucket.

So in my education, I still say spirit.
