( the voice that comes across the crystals is a woman’s, nevarran accented, likely familiar to some— maybe some more than others. she’d joined riftwatch in nevarra, following them back to kirkwall from the necropolis alongside professor volkarin; presently, she’s set herself up in the thaig, which is where she’s reaching out to the crystals from,

though it’s not only her voice audible. there’s a slightly muffled cacophony of hideous grinding sounds in the background as she opens, )

So, is someone missing an incredibly mobile teapot.

It's a teapot, not a flustered socialite.

She’s a little creature with whims and fancies. Just because she’s got certain parts doesn’t mean I'm entitled to stick my hand in them on first acquaintance. I'm not a flustered socialite, either, but I think I might myself take that one amiss.

It's...a teapot. [ expression says: little creature?! ] Surely. Right? Nothing but a series of interesting enchantments and all - we've not got living and thinking crockery, right?

Well, that strikes me as a very incurious stance to take on something you haven’t encountered,

I wasn't at my most sociable after the experience in the depths, but I know we've had more people join the Riftwatch. Well - welcome.

Quickfire round, what are your opinions on Rifters and mages? In that order.

[mournwitch]

I take them on a case by case basis.

[reparo]

[ in a fight? ] Fair enough. There are a few of us in the Riftwatch, but not all of us prickly about it.

[mournwitch]

I know mages aren’t an easy group to have a singular opinion of for those who've met any; I can’t imagine rifters being different.

[reparo]

That's an excellent attitude to have about it! I apologise for the quickfire questions - I realise it puts you on the spot. [ which was the point. ] There's been some literature published recently about Rifters and...well, prickly or not, nobody likes to be called a demon.

( the apology loses her a few points — come on, now, they both know she did it on purpose — but athénaïs,
who doesn’t tend to talk to most people the way she’s been cracking at strand, lets it pass. )
