No rush, ( she assures him. ) They’re playing peekaboo, although I’m not totally clear where Miss Smythe’s eyes are. And I’m pretty sure they’ve not broken anything.

I've never sorted out exactly how she views the world around her, but observation suggests she clearly can. But if she's sprightly, I'd assume she's not in any distress.

Siegfried Farnon, by the way. I'm not entirely sure how much she falls under my purview as Riftwatch's veterinarian, but I admit to taking something of an interest even so.

I never thought I'd get to see one, let alone a whole eyrie of them. They're quite distinct as individuals, just as horses are, but they've also got an ... I hesitate to say an "esprit de corps," but something that feels like it.

If I've learned anything in my time here, it's that there's a lot to be said for the power of perspective. I'm not in diplomacy myself, but even so. It's worth playing to strengths rather than highlighting weaknesses in many contexts.
