- A survey of spirits at former Circles and battlegrounds, with focus to Kinloch Hold and Dairsmuid.
- A collection of evidence regarding the magical nature of anchor shards, and anchor-bearers.
Details under cut.
Kinloch Hold Survey –
Sent to several historians in Nevarra and Ferelden with an interest in the Blight, connecting each other as contacts.
Isaac takes care to underline that the investigation was conducted by a veteran of the Fifth Blight, and was overseen by a Mortalitasi-trained Medium. Both the historical record and the spiritual presence can be confirmed, supporting the concept as a broader investigative technique.
Should they wish to further explore the practice, he’s supplied a list of events and witnesses to check against. Some of these are things like the Battle of Ghislain. Others are the sites of particularly ugly Rebellion losses.
Dairsmuid Survey –
Circulated quietly among surviving family members, and then very loudly by performers in Rialto.
Isaac has compiled (and embellished) a profile of a young woman whose grisly death was re-enacted by spirits. He's commissioned a popular balladeer to write a heart-wrenching song about her. Literally heart-wrenching: Alongside emphasis on her innocence and virtue, it describes the way she got stabbed in lurid detail. True crime, with a perfect victim.
He's done his best to make sure it gets played in Divine Beatrix's hometown. Like, a lot.
Anchor Evidence –
Sent to a handful of “Aequitarians” who Isaac doesn’t trust, and thereby given to both the Chantry and the Libertarians.
It outlines that:He asks for advice in disproving that anchor-bearers are mages, as this is a sensitive matter to Riftwatch. It'd suck if anyone leapt to conclusions.
- Anchor shards can reinforce the Veil, as do some schools of magic.
- Shards grow in power over time, and cause the development of recognizably magical effects: Shields, bolts, etc.
- These effects are reactive to magical silencing.
- They're somewhat reactive to lyrium.
- In ten years of study, no anchor-bearer is known to have acquired multiple shards, despite increased exposure to Rifts.
- This implies an alteration to one’s state of being, rather than a physical injury.
NEXT STEPS:
Pursue these, do new jobs, do neither.
