SUMMARY: A team went to the Silent Plains to help the People and the Exalted March raid a caravan, and distribute the loot. This one was booby trapped by the Venatori. They led attackers away, and tracked down a misplaced cloaking device.

REPORT:

9:50 KINGSWAY –

Took a team to the Silent Plains. The People been raiding supply lines with the March, and both figure they’re owed more of it.

Did most of our talking with Messere Eryx of the People, and Corporal Powers of the March. We took a wagon easy. Too easy, it was trapped. Thing exploded. Some kind of rune device, smoke just kept coming. Miss Granger thought quick and disappeared enough of it to see through. We used the rest to lead pursuers away from the raiding party. She's got it if you want a look.

Reckon they wanted to track who’d been harrying them, might be after that cloaking device. We were too: Got lost in a sandstorm. Messeres Barrow and Viktor used the thaumascope to locate and retrieve it. Worked a peach. What worries me is if the Venatori try the same.

Most of the supplies were rotted out, so everyone’s still hungry. The current split don’t work. The People need a bigger share, and the March needs less risk. Can’t manage one without the other. Suggested they cross-train their folks. Even duties, for a more even reward.

It’s part pretend – The People can’t match the March’s numbers. The March don’t know the terrain like they do. But it lets them run a more flexible operation, and maybe seeing each other work settles some anger. No one wants their buddy to starve.

Left letters for their officers. Think they’d prefer we left the griffon.

We’ve got copies of the thaumoscope records, right? It’s not all in one notebook?

• Monitor tensions.
• Find a way to supplement the People’s supplies.
• Promote skill exchanges between the People and the March.
• Look into ways to jam or hide magical artifact signatures.
