Hey. Jayce Talis here. In Research. I was, um… one of the casualties in Granitefell. I want to thank all of those involved in rewinding time and giving us another chance. What you’ve done is nothing short of incredible. So… thank you.

[ A brief pause. Then, a little cautiously, ]

…because of what happened, I’d like to learn the basics of combat—if anyone is willing to teach it to me. I’m… I’m a metalsmith. I can swing a hammer, if that helps? I’m not looking for a fight. I just… need to learn how to defend myself.

[ If Jayce was from her universe she'd just say a stiletto and feel like she got her point across, but since with other rifters you never know what weird terms you'll have in common, she settles for: ] Long and thin, with a really sharp point.

[ If this thing was going to be for herself, it'd be something a lot flashier, and probably a lot bigger, too. But Ellie has a much different energy, and the work she does is quieter. Something like this could puncture leather or heavy clothes, and it wouldn't bleed too much while still doing a lot of internal damage. Yeah, she's thought about this. ]

Obviously, I'll pay for everything. I'll even pay you, if you want. [ It sounds like she's really antsy to get this started (she is), and thinks that maybe throwing some cash his way will make him more likely to agree. ]
