Numb. 1
THE HANGMAN'S PAPERS
Published for Riftwatch, in the Gallows of Kirkwall
Autumn 9:48

CONTAINING,

From Enchanter Julius, a brief unsponsored endorsement for the services of Roger Deschamps. Julius offers to help get anyone in touch with Deschamps who's interested and, if the person is not diplomatic by nature, make an introduction designed to smooth over any lingering hurt feelings.

From a source within the Gallows, rumors that Madame de Foncé has been fending off the attentions of three Hightown lords, one of whom is on the verge of challenging her new husband to a duel to secure her undivided attentions.

From that same source, reports that Mister Linden owes a shocking amount of money to the haberdasher and tailor in Wycome, for a set of Chantry sister's robes that he apparently found lacking upon completion of the work. (Perhaps this accounts for his absence?)

From Bastien, a brief biography of Lillie Reed, a longstanding kitchen maid, with particular focus on her hobby of breeding fighting beetles and her mistreatment by her last employer, a wage-withholding Hightown lord, with just enough detail for someone attentive to discern who it is.

From Brother Jehan Mercier d'Annecy, formerly of Riftwatch and presently of the Inquisition, a brief account of the admirable progress made in repairing the once-occupied city of Ghislain, such that one must now look carefully to see any signs of its former trials, and of the improved moods of the locals in the surrounding villages, who remember Riftwatch fondly.

Interspersed, for amusement at breakfast (and for filling space), with three riddles and a woodcut maze.

With instructions for submitting material for future publications.
