um, hello? [the voice is very soft and nervous at first.]

Pardon my anxiousness, I'm, ah, not used to this kind of communication being so... open?

I was told I'd need a staff and some guidance in order to use my own magic properly here. The general outlook on mages, however, has me doubting if devoting the time is a good idea or if I should focus my efforts elsewhere. However, if it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be in my head, and someone were interested and able in assisting me, I'd be happy to discuss fair compensation for your time.

Also, upon some recent reflection, I suppose I should offer myself up to one of the divisions of Riftwatch - not Diplomacy though, I'm not equipped for that.

(there's a soft snigger as warning before abby starts to chuckle. that was out of left field, but in a very good way,)

You heard me, squire! There's no time for dilly-dallying about!

(and it makes her start to laugh again, confused and delighted,) Wait, wait– if I'm the squire, who are you?

[he does his best not to also start laughing but a couple giggles sneak through his resolve to stay in character.]

Well, I'm you're- [oops, lost the voice a second there. ahem, hm, hrm, huff, hrmph]

I'm the-- [nope, the illusion has been broken, he just starts full-on laughing with the occasional "sorry, I'm sorry" wheezed through his giggles.]

You're a goofball, (abby tells him but it's with an air of unbridled glee,) Where did that come from?

[When he can find words again through his laughter, he says:] I felt like trying to be funny, I don't know. Sounds like it worked though.
