Hello, Riftwatch. I'm Kate Bishop, Grey Warden, Inquisition ally, archer extraordinaire, and recent re-discoverer of some very historic documents now in the possession of a pair of dwarves and their mage friend who I'm pretty sure is Venatori. Since I'm told that's the sort of thing you all dabble in, I thought some of you might be interested in accompanying me to retrieve them to see what all the fuss is about.

Also if somebody wanted to point me toward any of the other Wardens around here, I'd appreciate it. I know Alistair is here, but not sure about who else. Is there a club house these days or a special table in the dining hall or something? Secret crystal chat password I should know?

Surprised he's stuck around. Unless Alistair's been spinning me a load of bull, selflessly underpaid heroism is kind of the aim here, right?

And yeah, kinda. That and making sure that the anchors don't eat our limbs, and the dude with the army of the damned doesn't devour the world.

What's on those documents, ancient forbidden knowledge that could greatly improve and/or completely this world? [He tries to joke, but the allure of secret texts... It gets him every time.]

Sounds important if you need to organize a counter-heist.

Probably not. But if the Venatori are interested in them, then so am I. Can't hurt to get an idea what they're after.

If they know what they're looking for that might or might not be in the documents then why stop at just getting them back? Why not find out what they're seeking and any information they might have on that and take it as well?

It would weaken the Venatori and it could result in knowledge that's helpful to Riftwatch's cause.

A broken nose is a lot more striking and memorable than an elegant one that's slightly too large for someone's face. Astarion can always get some character built if he really insists; it'd be a favour to him, practically.

I knew a very pedantic fellow once who would dig in his heels if you ever described something as very historic. It's either historic or not historic, he'd say. Akin to either being unique or not.

I'm called Matthias, and I reckon things can be very historic. [Countering the above without directly addressing the above, also known as very mature.] 'Cause something might be historic and boring, but if it's very historic, that means it's interesting or meaningful, as well as historic, right?

I was thinking very historic like very old, but that makes sense too. He can be wrong for more than one reason.

The dwarves and the mage are holed up in an abandoned-looking house northwest of Wildervale, across the lake. I was hoping the mage would leave at some point and I could go in myself but I watched for a couple days and no luck. I've got a local keeping an eye on it for me now.

There's an office for us in the central tower, but it isn't secret. Unless I'm the only person who knows about it anymore, then it—it was secret, until just now.
