FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Tony and Byerly, your new mustachioed overlords
RECIPIENT: Everyone
NOTES: Relevant to this plot, of course! Red is Tony, blue is Byerly.

I would like the attention of all members of Riftwatch, please.

[ - Not exactly a surprising opening from Byerly, really. It's just that normally, he'd sound amused. And he’d follow that demand for attention with an invitation to play fuck, marry, kill, or start a poll about who has the largest feet, or something. But instead, he sounds grim, and the next thing he says is: ]

This is a time of crisis. We have reason to believe that the Tevinter army has taken Hasmal. Moreover, Scoutmaster Yseult and Commander Flint have gone missing.

We've sent a couple griffons out over the area we last knew they were—

[ Probably, Tony's presence doesn't lend more assuredness that this isn't a bit, but he likewise doesn't sound thrilled when his voice comes over the line. ]

—and the intention is to check out more safe zones, assuming they've gone to ground, so volunteers are welcome to apply. But with Hasmal on fire, we're gonna have to stretch our resources.

In the meantime, Provost Stark is seeing to the matters that Commander Flint would normally tend to. I, meanwhile, am looking after Yseult’s duties.

So now's a good time to share your Corypheus murder plans you've been holding onto, while the going's good.

[ Just saying. Promotions? ]

Tevinter pushing into the Free Marches is the first priority. Like the Ambassador says, we have word that the city is now under Tevinter's control, and we need to know what that looks like on a bad day. As far as Forces is concerned, if you're combat ready and capable, if you know the area, and if you've run missions around monitoring enemy forces before, report to the central tower so we can go over a game plan.

The situation is constantly changing. We need people out there telling us what’s going on. It’s likely that Tevinter will use this opportunity to expand beyond Hasmal into the Free Marches beyond; we don’t want to be taken by surprise. That means scouts on the ground, but it also means Diplomacy going out and talking to the refugees. Hearing their stories. And it means ensuring that the Marcher cities are acting together.

More detailed orders will be posted for each Division. Work together; don’t make mistakes.
