Like, you wake up and walk outside one day and oh! That thing on your calendar, it's right there, and it got bigger and meaner while you were looking the other way. Deadlines, except that's a bit shit, because no one really knows when they're going to die, do they?

I was meant to die- slightly over a year ago, I believe. It's irksome information to have, when there's nothing you can do about it.

To answer your question - I don’t know how I would die but I would want it to be in battle. There’s only one person I know strong enough who might put an end to me.

Oh, falling down a particularly ingenious trap door I suppose, or perhaps flinging myself heroically into a fire to save some precious books from destruction, or of a terrible curse brought about from being the first to set foot in an ancient tomb. Perhaps by the qunari when we make our return to Par Vollen someday. Those would be the exciting answers, of course it's far more likely I die in my exceedingly comfortable bed at the grand old age of one-hundred-and-eleven like my Great Aunt Marie-Ségolène.

I'm Inessa and as I'm a Grey Warden, my most likely fate will met battling darkspawn. My order is dedicated to fighting the tainted creatures, so it seems inevitable. [She sounds calm about it, though, long ago resigned to that.]

Isn't it? When the mission's all so terribly grand. I suppose you're not a hero while it happens, though. It doesn't seem like you're anything until you die, and someone writes it down. You and me will have to give that up.

I'm most likely going to die of the Calling, but I'd much prefer to fall heroically in battle for some other reason. Such a death is honorable and at least has some meaning to it.
