I wonder often if I worry needlessly, for needless things. For these are troubled times upon us, and far worse things there are than...

I wish to ask: Where might one seek information for an excursion into the undergrounds? I would call it an adventure, but I am to understand it is not the safest place to be, at times. And at places. Though it is true that I seek an adventure!

As for the reason... [hhhmmmmm.] ..let us say simply that I wish to see the sights.

And, if killing anything down there is required, it would not be a problem. [much.]

It seems a very unpopular place. [what a shame.] But I will try my luck, very carefully, and indeed with a guide. It would be silly of me to venture down on my own.

[chipper. all his life he'd believed Underground Bad, and it's... well he still thinks the underground is not the best place to be, but it's not going to stop him anymore.]

I used to think the same, but I had heard recently [....sorta] that there is in fact much to see, if one looks in the right places. [pause.] Though, perhaps the Blight has made that more difficult.

There is good reason for it. I was there recently and I would not recommend it to anyone, no matter how brave they might think they are.

I have lived all my life above the ground, and recently been regaled with tales of caves and an underground city by a very persistent dwarf, not quite as dark and dreary as I had always thought it would be. I wanted to know if the same could be found here, amidst the murk and gloom.

..And it seems there are things to kill down there, anyway. Though it is rather dull doing so alone. [he does sound far too happy about all of this. comparatively. compared to anyone else talking about the deep roads, anyway.

I do not think the caves here will compare to what you might have seen in your home. [ He doesn't know where Legolas is from, particularly, but he makes the assumption that he is a Rifter. Anyone who is from this world would know of the Deep Roads and know of the dangers.

He sighs. ] I do not know if you would be able to bargain for someone to join you.

I have seen but one cave that is not my home, and it was very dead and abandoned. Less of a cave and more of a.... massively delved mountain fortress. But its entrance was a cave. [yes, it would've probably helped if he mentioned that part. alas, elves are not always helpful.]

I am told it is prudent to delve with a Warden, who are the best choice when entering the undergrounds. At least, it did not sound as though they would be unwilling... If I cannot, then I will have to suffer a wait. [if that makes him sound a little impatient, so be it. luckily he's not curious enough about this to go running off on his own.... again.]

I would not think there are many mountains here that have entrances that are caves, but I have not ventured as far as I might. [ And it doesn't really sound as though he's particularly interested in venturing any further either, if he's being honest. One trip into the Deep Roads was enough.

A Warden would be vital to ensure you did not die as a result of this. If you are poisoned they are the only ones who know a means of treatment, so it is said.

It does not seem that many here prefer dwelling in the mountains, though I.. cannot blame them, personally. [he's more of a... forest valley kinda guy.] Yet I have not travelled far, either. Perhaps there are some out there waiting to be found.

I do not usually fear poison, for it is rarely fatal to my kind. But of corruption of this sort, I know not the effects it would have. I have little desire to join the ranks of those claimed by the blight. I believe their numbers are enough, as it is.

[ To say the least. Hanzo can survive on a mountain if he has to, but that's not a choice he'd like to make. Civilisation is working better, at least for now. ]

I think so, too. This is a poison where the cure is... [ He breathes out. ] I do not know what it is. It is something of a secret. I would not take the risk.

Ai, that is a pity. [though his standards for 'hospitable' are. pretty low. living in the forest will do that to a guy.] I would like to hope so! Cities can only be so entertaining, for one such as I.

Something related to the Wardens, I would guess. At least, they do not recommend it except in the worst of scenarios. I have not heard that a better cure has ever been found... perhaps it never will be if the source cannot be destroyed. If there is a source.
