crystal.

FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Kostos
RECIPIENT: Everybody
WHAT: Nothing remotely inflammatory
WHEN: Time is a manmade construct and I refuse to be bound by it
NOTES: Context.

The next time any of us— [ That isn't an all-inclusive us; he means, specifically, mages and rifters and maybe templars, but everyone can figure that out on their own. Or not. He doesn't care. ] —is in the position to make demands, I think we should make sure we have a say in which rifters go to which Circles. We could pick in turns. Like choosing teams.

[ That's all. ]

I feel like I can't be the only one who doesn't know when this guy's being serious or sarcastic.
rathercommon: (unsympathetic (maybe sympathetic))

Well -

[ No. All right. She has no clue, either. Primly: ]

You can be assured that he's always being rude. He's a terribly rude person.
motherfucking_ghost: (yeah I know I'm great)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-29 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, that part I got. Loud and clear.
rathercommon: (ummm whatever though)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-29 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. And the idea is repugnant, too.
motherfucking_ghost: (really shouldn't add to my confusion)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-29 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Humor me for a second.

Why?
rathercommon: (are you insane)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-29 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Why is it repugnant to be stripped of your freedom and sent off somewhere at someone else's whim?
motherfucking_ghost: (really shouldn't add to my confusion)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-29 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
We're always sent off somewhere at someone else's whim. It's called a chain of command. Stripped of freedom, I mean, wouldn't that really depend on how Circle got reformed, if they get reformed, which, let's be honest, there's a lotta anti-Circle sentiment that I wouldn't put my money on Circles being a thing again anyway?
rathercommon: (leery)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-29 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Not true. Rifters have freedom of movement, don't they, aside from what our shards dictate.
motherfucking_ghost: (ain't that something)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-29 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but I'm saying, generally speaking, someone above us says move, we move. Unless you choose not to do the whole military song and dance. Which, now that we're people with actual rights, is a lot easier to do. Or...not...do in this case.

I'm not saying I'm for the idea, cuz I think he's blowing smoke out his ass, but if Circles, in the future, become a thing again, they aren't even gonna be made the same way. Cuz that's how you get war. And nobody wants to start that shit again.

I know a lotta people are miffed about the whole lumping rifters and mages together thing, but I mean...them's the breaks of compromise?
rathercommon: (haughty as anything)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-29 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry. "Them's the breaks"?
motherfucking_ghost: (Default)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-29 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, uh, like. It means something like 'that's the cost of doing business' or do you also not have that phrase? Like. Sure, maybe later we can negotiate that not be a thing, but there had to be a compromise somewhere, and this isn't a bad one.
rathercommon: (are you insane)

[ church she's from fantasy London cut her a slangy break ]

Right, that's what it sounded like it meant. Well, that's a stupid turn of phrase. In my opinion. Things can always be improved - there's no point at which anyone should ever just shrug and say, well, who cares.

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-30 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ha, yeah, I don't know where that phrase even comes from. I wanna say the 20's. Butttt dunno.

Everyone cares, I just think a bunch of people are caring in a way that is...less than helpful? To a newly developed situation. Is it unfair, yeah, but we weren't all gonna come out of it with pats on the backs and all. You keep working toward the goal, but I say take the victories where you can, y'know?
rathercommon: (haughty as anything)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-30 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
What, and talking about us like we're property, like we can get claimed like we're the last biscuit at tea - that's productive, is it?
motherfucking_ghost: (yeah I know I'm great)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-30 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. But the way he's talking about it is just funny to me. Like choosing teams, right, like getting picked in dodgeball.

Man, I used to look like a nerd, and now I look like a jock? I bet I woulda got picked first in gym all the time like this. [He's getting off track...]
rathercommon: (checking out own butt)

[personal profile] rathercommon 2018-07-30 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You've got to be aware that I don't know what you're talking about.

[ Which is a bit of an exaggeration. Kitty does know what he's talking about in terms of getting picked first for teams. As in, she never got picked first, either, because even though she was better then half of them she was a girl, and it's still something that pisses her off. ]
motherfucking_ghost: (yeah I know I'm great)

[personal profile] motherfucking_ghost 2018-07-30 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man. I need to talk to Tessa and we should introduce dodgeball. Along with all the other sports they don't have here. It's really self-explanatory.

And the church was losing a lot of their big bad anti-magic Templars, and it sounds like it was so intense that a lot of people just told the church to fuck off and kept doing their fighty thing. I'm just saying. Long and costly wars? Generally nobody wants to try and recreate those. And doing the exact same thing as they did before, not gonna go well. Kinda depends on who ends up your not-Pope at the end of the day, I guess.

And you should definitely get a say on who you live with. Like college dorms.
