( The audio starts with some light strumming of a lute as Chance tunes it a little back into place. He starts talking as he works on this process, stopping every so often to test a note out. )

I've been listening to some local music, which is really nice I might add. ( The note he strums here is sharp, making him pause as he cringes before he continues. ) I'm a bit used to learning my audience where I go, but you know I have a little more to work with since I knew my world enough. I knew the way to frame our worldly themes to fit day to day life.

It's not vastly different here, but it's different enough- ah! ( He sounds a bit cheerful as the sharp note goes back to being proper. ) And some things are universal I'm sure.

Like I know a local favorite that killed no matter the tavern at home...

( The strumming picks up from the leisurely pace he was testing at to a quick and light tune. song referenced found here. )

Jackass, jackass, royal ass
Obedient as a dog
The first to fail his only class
With charm that rivals a hog!

A noble ass with noble hide
Oh you can see it in his stride
And for a copper penny
He will take you for a ride!

( He stops shortly, laughing slightly as he clears his throat and goes back to the leisurely strumming. ) Maybe not always so appropriate. Kids get a laugh out of it, though.

Anyway, I was curious about what kind of music most people tend to like? I need to get working on some new material for a new world.

And I'm not sure about this... but if this world has any bards with any tricks of the trade they're willing to share? I'd be willing to trade a few of my own, if anyone's interested.

I like music without words. [ HAH. ] If you are not a bard of this world... You are from another?

No end of music like that. ( even now, he keeps strumming tunes that change with the whim of his fingers. )

And I am, even if I look more like I belong here than I usually do.

It's a preference, not an order. [ Does she feel bad? A touch. ] What is your world like?

How's that saying go, though? ( He's grinning, clear in his voice, even if there is no video. ) 'Your wish is my command?

( he laughs, dismissing her worries. ) I like all kinds of music. I'm only happy to share it.

As for my world... I wouldn't say it's vastly different from here, like I've heard others talk about. We have elves and dwarves and horned people too, though we call them tieflings. There's a lot more races than that, too.

A lot of abundant magic, dragons, all those fun things. ( He pauses and murmurs more to himself. ) A lot of abundant... that's just redundant. ( Sigh. ) And that painfully rhymed. ( Just a little self critique. )

Anyway. Little less political than this place, but maybe it's just because I'm near the inquisition that it seems that way? I didn't get too near politics at home.

[ She is not well used to people who are so jovial, but she's doing her best. As much as she can. ]

Your description sounds similar to my own. A world much like this one, but changed in some ways, as though adapted. It is as if the worlds are brothers and we have tumbled from one to another.

[ A part of her doesn't dare hope to ask, but - ]

( that makes him pause slightly in his playing. )

Yeah, I've heard of them. You aren't going to start preaching her at me are you? ( he's just teasing. )

So you're from Faerûn, too? And that god's name isn't just a happy coincidence?

[ The loss of her patron is still difficult, but she's managing somehow. ]
