INTRODUCTIONS AT STABLES - ASK FOR COUPE
log;
"That’s the one," Announces the cheerful, pimply young man who’s been raking horseshit out of the path. (Everything’s a cause for cheer when you’re not in the Deep Roads). "Bites."
There's a bandage on his arm; he smiles broad and bland. Really, it's all a step up after the last few missions.

"Does she have a name?"
no subject
"Ah. Preudame," A bloody awful pun, but that had always been Courwin’s style. "I believe."
Disinclined as she is to name most beasts, Wren can’t deny the necessity of it when working with war hounds. These are not the semi-feral curs of her youth.
"I had — ah — been hoping to ask you of her." Her fingers slip free once she’s certain the older dog won’t lunge, a short gesture to Garahel. "I have never heard how the two of you were acquainted."

Garahel wags his tail at Wren, still watching the other mabari with interest, but the rumbling keeps him back for now. "I met Garahel as a pup, shortly after he was weaned. I had just joined the Grey Wardens in full, and a more senior member -also a Ferelden- told me of a kennel nearby that was offering Grey Wardens the first chance to bond with their newly-weaned pups. I'd never had an animal companion before -the Circle mousers don't count- but...I was curious. When I saw him, he was such a tiny, feisty thing, full of love. He practically leapt into my lap and wouldn't let me leave without him. Whatever made him decide I was the one, it seemed to happen near-instantly."
She chuckles at that fond memory, stroking her mabari's head with her free hand.
a note left somewhere for her;
[What?
What is this?
What are you doing?]
Are we not infested enough?
scrawled on the bottom
[ but there's definitely a giant grouchy dog in the room, quite possibly sleeping on yngvi's bed, ]
A few days, at the most. [ it's definitely going to be longer than that ] It was a friend's.
tacked on because numero uno good boy
Will update on nugtroductions.
tosses him a milkbone
A gentleman. Thank you — if it gives them any trouble, I will move it to the office.
Check the third drawer of my desk when you've time.
[ remember that boneflayer-inspired romance? here's a refresher in the flesh. ink. whatever. ]
this is why he fought korrin for you
Let the record show my honour that I was given full permission to go rummaging through Ser Coupe's drawers.
[Wren. Wren you will be privy to the dramatic giggling re-readings as he corpses the whole time with his best Avvar and Orlesian accents.]

Are you pitching an Inquisition sequel?
[ she’ll do any necessary ferelden voices ]

[If you hear screaming, you know to look away and start drinking.]

[ this counts as aiding and abetting probably but on the other hand who'd believe it ]

[Carta, Wren, Carta. Borrowing is what you say when you get caught. If you can't kick them in the knees and run like the void itself is trying to eat you.]
no subject
[ can he even reach thranduil's knees?? ]
no subject
[This is why he has Jimothy. This is literally the entire reason he has Jimothy.]

[ reward her faith in your sneakiness bro, because she's broke AF after cade ]

[If it all goes wrong, you know what he'll do.
He will absolutely roll to seduce the guard.]
no subject
It is not your charm that I doubt. I've had word of his charms -- they are considerably less connected.
[ rolling to seduce thranduil is what they're talking about right because that dick is broke ]

[He's so amazed that someone is FINALLY LISTENING TO HIM about this. So of course he's going to excitedly share ideas now.]

[She's not a zoologist, no, but the whole phenomenon is interesting to her; a variation of the way some young animals imprint on their mother, maybe, or a more intense version of the canine domestication she knows. Dog breeding details -- the weakness of the out-of-work geneticist.]

[ she fumbles, uncertain. her particular education never covered hound-handling in any detail; she's got stories to go on, here. that's about it. ]
They most often attach for life. If she were so, I expect, [ a beat. she tries again: ] I expect that she would yet be in Orlais. They are — difficult to move, when they do not wish it.
Would you like to meet her?
[ could a small researcher could use a large guard dog? possibly.
at least one she's not dating. ]no subject
[Do you really want to give Herian's
girlfriend a mabari?]
