NOTES: Hello! So Herian's background has some dark themes,
and she has some pretty harsh attitudes about mages, the Dalish, and pretty much anything that takes her fancy. I've got an opt out post if there's anything you want me to avoid touching on.

I fear it had been overlong since last we spoke, Inquisition.

For those not yet known to me: I am Herian Amsel, Knight Enchanter of the White Spire. For those better acquainted with me, I apologise for my abrupt absence. My orders bid me elsewhere.

( ... and that's all she has to say about that, smoothly moving on. )

I hope the seasons and the Free Marches have not treated you poorly. However, I am bound to lament our residence in any portion of them that is not Starkhaven.

( There is just the faintest touch of humour, maybe. Possibly. You probably imagined it. )

I admit Kirkwall does take some...adjustment, but our situations has much improved since first arrival.

Time will tell, I suspect. I am cautious of over-confidence, in such times as these.

( Ugh, the dog though. She doesn't make an audible ugh, though - babysteps. ) Oh? Dare I ask?

Red lyrium, tears in the Veil...the Gallows was a mess when we first arrived. At least we managed their removal, as well as the statues that gave unwanted memories. The Veil is still thin, of course, but now at least we won't have literal hauntings to contend with.

Ah.

( There's a pause, because she... really has no idea how to respond to that. Because it sounds like the worst. If she knew about video, Herian would be glad that this is not that, because The Face She Made. )

Kirkwall has benefitted from the Inquisition's diligence I am sure they are more than grateful.

They are...cautiously accepting. We have been better neighbors than the Qunari were, after all. Some of the Inquisition's members have even been granted permission to reside outside the Gallows, though I haven't made the request myself yet.

[Perhaps in the future, but there's so much to do and in the Gallows she has access to all of it.]

I pray that we have loftier goals than to be superior neighbours than an invading force.

( A little dryly. )

Know you if the Inquisition has used any of their resources to aid the poor of this city? The alienage?

It's not one of the main projects, but there have been efforts to funnel some resources towards the destitute, in terms of food and medical care. The alienage is not excluded from this, though I'm not aware of a focus on that particular area. When last I visited, at least some of those supplies had reached them, though I can't speak to the exact schedule of such donations.

Thank you. I will look into it once I have been settled here a little longer.

( Add it to the list of things to look into, in between duties. Maker knows how much she'll have to try to figure out, and diplomacy, action beyond battle, have never been her gift. )<.small>

And how do the Wardens fare?

It varies. The fact that we are no longer made to reside outside the center of Inquisition activity is a boon to some, less so to others. I admit, I much prefer the current state of affairs, even with the Gallows' past. To have the baths and library within easy reach is no small comfort.
