I never thought I would return to live in this city, of all places.
[Fenris sounds less than thrilled. But he’s at least trying out this ‘communication’ thing for once. Varric would be so proud.]
How do you know when you’re truly home? What makes that different from merely a place where you happen to live?
[Honestly curious here. He’d once thought he’d almost come close to that before in Kirkwall, but at the moment, he’s not so sure. Maybe there’s just something... off... about returning to a place after a long time away. So much changes and yet remains the same all at once.]

[Her tone is slightly melancholy at that; it was her home for the longest time, flaws and all, but she would be lying -to him and herself- if that still applied. For good or ill (and there is plenty of both), she now belongs to the world outside.]

It sounds like being in the Circle gave you a sense of belonging. What do you think will become of new mages now, without that in place, I wonder...
[Bad things, awful things, nothing good whatsoever, or so Fenris believes. Inessa is good evidence that the Circles could work. They absolutely were necessary.]

I suppose I feel most at home with my fellow Wardens--those of the south, at least. What is happening in the Anderfels has effectively divided us.

Do you think that this division in your order can be repaired? Or is it too late?

[Little things happen all the time when learning to control one's magic, but problems with possession or temptation have not reached her ears...so far. She can only hope that Kirkwall doesn't live up to its reputation.]
As to that, I cannot say. I joined a couple of years ago and have not ascended to any great rank. I know what everyone knows, but I suspect there may be far more than I have not been told.
For my part, though, I could never live comfortably in Weisshaupt again. I know other Wardens who feel the same.

[Nor has he heard anything, either, and he'd be especially alert to any mention of problems. Maybe in some sense he's been waiting, on edge, for something to go wrong. Expecting it. Without the Circles to protect most mages from themselves, to give them the discipline they need... who knows what may happen? What still may come? He just hopes he doesn't have to have an "I told you so" type of moment someday.]
One can hardly blame you. It seems that the Wardens will have a lot to resolve amongst themselves, when all of this is ended. [But at the moment, so do the mages, the Chantry for that matter... The Inquisition is built on so many problem-filled groups.] If they can even wait that long.
