( the voice that comes through the crystals is young, light, high lilting orlesian; educated, but after the fact, someone whose speech is influenced by time spent around the upper-classes rather than someone who is identifiably one of them. the tone is thoughtful; )
There are an awful lot of Dalish, aren't there?
( like, any. )
Are they all one clan?
( gosh, they can probably hear this. )

...there are two clans represented, Dahlasanor and Ashara. [She leaves out Sabrae and Velanna's clan for the sake of not rubbing salt in the wound.]
I'm Siuona, First of Clan Dahlasanor. If you have questions, I'm happy to answer them.

What's a First?
no subject
Second-in-command to my Keeper. Ideally, the First assists in running the Clan.
[Ideally they aren't stuck at Skyhold with a chunk of magic in their sternum.]

( so they decide who's outclan. margaux will stop contextualising everything in relation to that, probably, but - it weighs heavily on her right now, an unexpected shock to someone who didn't think she had illusions left to have injured. )

( or are they among the ones here, she means. )

I'm sorry to hear that.
( --but that's sincere, all the same. )
Is it...are there problems?
( with all y'all babymaking accoutrements. )

The majority of our clan was slain around twenty years ago, and I think... many children were lost. I wasn't born yet, and am currently the youngest of my clan.
[She hesitates, then adds,]
There are so few of us that reproducing would become unfavorable very quickly. But we are hoping to reconcile our population with Ashara's.

( she puts it out there, just in case. maybe it'll be circled back to, later? if it isn't as easy as they hope? it seems like a little thing for the inquisition to allow their healers to do, in exchange for this aid. )

I'd like to think so, being among the healers myself. But neither that nor my herbalism can magick more elves out of nowhere, which is why allying with Ashara will be nice.
...but the healers here are good. They've helped me greatly.

If there were something wrong, you could fix it if you could find it, is that not...?
no subject
[she's trying to be delicate.]
...the only thing wrong right now is that we don't want siblings having children together.
no subject
Oh.
no subject
...yes. But that's why we hope to mix with Ashara.
no subject
I wish you luck of it.

Ma serannas.
[She pauses, then proceeds, her voice light.]
The most recent members came from a city and from a clan even more destroyed than ours. They're both women, so there was some hope they'd take to one of the Halaan brothers.
[She giggles.]
Instead they chose each other.
[The Keeper doesn't find this quite so funny, but Sina has her reasons for enjoying it.]

....I think. It's hard to tell with Sedi.
